INTRODUCTION
Internship or on the job training is one way by which we students are given an
opportunity to apply the theories and computations that we have learned from school. It also
helps us to obtain applicable knowledge and skills by performing in actual work setting.
Colleges and universities require their students to undergo such training within a specific
the actual methodologies of a specific job using the real tools, equipments, and documents. In
effect, the work place becomes a development venue for us student trainee to learn more
about our chosen field and practice what we have learn from academy.
On the other hand, a valuable OJT program also profits the companies who accept
trainees. First OJT or intern provides extra manpower for a less significant labor cost than a
regular employee. Most of them are all eager to learn the ropes so chances are high that
they’ll be given a chance to work on the same company as an employee after graduating.
Employers can use this internship strategy as method in recruiting employees. Since the
trainer or supervisor can follow the trainees’ progress, he can gauge based on performance,
behavior and attitude if the trainee will make good recruit after the completion of his
internship.
We trainees can bring fresh ideas into the organization. Given the opportunity to
converse our minds freely and without fear, we may be able to contribute significantly in
productivity.
DIVERSION 21 HOTEL
HISTORY
strategically located at Diversion Road, Mandurriao, Iloilo City. It started its operation on
June 2013 and has been continuously catering to patrons since then. The eight-floor main
Hotel houses eighty four (84) fully furnished rooms, forty two (42) of which are matrimonial
rooms, eighteen(18) contains twin beds, eighteen(18) are for triple and six (6) prime rooms
including executive and presidential rooms. The hotel rooms’ interiors are dominantly white
with an occasional splash of colors complimented with wood tones providing a modern and
ambiance feel to the room. The new annex Hotel, which started June 2016, houses forty four
(44) fully furnished rooms, twelve (12) matrimonial rooms, twelve (12) twin beds, ten (10)
triple and ten (10) double queen rooms perfectly designed for families. This new hotel wing
gives a classic brown interior touched with high class wood arts for a modernized
atmosphere.
The Diversion 21 Hotel also provides function rooms and amenities for parties,
seminars, trainings, and all other special occasions which require private venues. The five (5)
fully operational function rooms are located at the second level of the main hotel and each of
the said function room can accommodate an average of forty (40) guests. The color scheme
inside the function rooms is consistent to the modern atmosphere of the whole hotel making it
Beside the Diversion 21 Hotel Main Building is the four-floor Anne Margaret
Building which contains the parking space on its first floor and Premier Function Rooms on
the second floor, while the third floor houses the Anne Margaret Ballroom. The Ballroom can
accommodate up to four hundred fifty (450) guests and is most appropriate for debuts,
weddings, and large seminars/ trainings. Diversion 21 Hotel is owned and managed by Iloilo
21 Hotels, Inc. and is strategically located at Diversion Road, Mandurriao, Iloilo City. It

This our orientation day. We discuss All about Diversion 21 Hotel. They aslo discuss
the backgroud and history of the hotel. They told us the the Vision and Mission, the rules and
regulation as a trainee. They also discuss the different phases of each department, they
introduce to us their staffs. I was amazed because they are very approachable. So this is it,
Department. Since this is not my first time to do housekeeping, so it was easy for me to do
my task. But this is my first time in Diversion 21 Hotel I felt excited and a little bit nervous
because of the new environment and new people sorrounding me. Our supervisor showed us
the different rooms and ammenities of the hotel, so that we can start our task. My task in my
first day was to make up the room, i was shocked because the room was messy, but i have my
co-trainee to make up room. We use vacuum cleaner, we fixed the bed, we arranged the
2nd day of my duty. I was assigned in room same thing what I did yesterday. We
need to clean up the room because it was already checked out last two hours. First thing I was
to do remove all the linen from the bed and then change it into clean and fresh linen, then
vacuum the carpet. My co-trainee was assigned at the bathroom. We finished our task as fast
shocked because it was very big and nice room. We make up the room. We vacuum the
carpet, fixed the bed and got the garbage in the floor.
I was also assigned in a different room. I have 4 rooms checked out that I already

I was assigned as the same room but in the bathroom area. My Room Attendant told

that I mopped hard floor, I also emplying trash receptacles and disposing of waste.
I was assigned at the bathroom. I got the all garbage inside the Bathroom and put it
away. I cleaned and sanitized toilet, shower/bathtubs, countertops, and sink. After that I
putting all the supplies inside the bathroom like clean linen and toiletries.

CONCLUSION
The On-The-Job training is the best way to learn the housekeeping operation in a
hotel. As a trainee I have learned the standard operating procedure, the work tasks, the
responsibilities as a hotel trainee and as a part to undertake work efficiently and effectively.
Learning outside the corners of a room made me as a trainee learn more of the
housekeeping department, its function, the personnels behind it and how to become an
experiencing it personally. I have experienced to be part of the largest work force in every
certification program that aims to teach the trainees all the necessary information about the
