"What are the biggest differences between the current generation and the last one?

"
If we looked back 100 years we would see world wars, people living in villages and getting married at
very young age. Currently, we get more out of work, put off marriage and villages are urbanized. The
world evolved, but so did the people. Differences between the last generation called “Baby boomers”
and the Z generation are evident and that is not a surprise at all. This essay will discuss what these
differences between “Baby boomers” and the Z generation are.

First of all, the Z generation wants to get more out of work. Youngsters are more motivated by their
ability to make an impact wherever they work. Young people want a job where they feel like their work
matters. They are also less afraid than previous generations to change jobs or work independently.
“Baby boomers”, meanwhile, are driven more by loyalty and responsibility, also they’re more likely to
work for the same company for long periods — at least 20 years. This leads to the fact that the current
generation has more options in the work sphere, however, “baby boomers” are more loyal and have
more responsibility than Z generation

Secondly, the current generation is putting off marriage. For instance, the Z generation is less likely to
marry during their 20s. However “Baby boomers” were married between the ages of 18 to 32, while just
a little of Z generation is married in the same age range. This leads to the fact that the current
generation spends more time on education and career prospects. Only after young people make their
life stable they want to marry and have a family.

Finally, the Z generation is happier in cities than in suburbs. The current generation especially tends to
move to more expensive urban centers. Unlike baby boomers and their parents, who migrated to the
suburbs to find their own house full of rooms and a garden, youngsters find happiness in cities where
they just want to rent one room. Larger, more urban environments offer young people the perks of
diversity, economic opportunities, entertainment, safety, and a feeling of status. This leads to the fact
that the Z generation is the only generation that’s happier living in places with more people and it is
enough for them to have a room with a bed.

All in all, there are a lot of differences between generations. However, I strongly believe that getting out
of work, putting off marriage and living in the cities are the biggest. I hope that despite all these
differences our society goes along. Also, we should not forget that it is possible to learn a lot of things
from each generation and adapt to this global world.
