100-Day Celebration - Hindrance to Education (?

100-Day Celebration is a last long tradition in Lithuania schools. It takes about half
year to prepare and after a celebration, which basically takes all weekend, you need
a lot of time to relax and recover your energy. Many surveys had found out that
more and more 12 grade students don’t come to school for a week after 100-day
celebration. So, as a result, I have decided to prove that 100-Day Celebration is a
huge drawback to education.
In my experience, we work extremely hard to make 100-day celebration fantastic.
However, it takes too much time and stress. This show was the only thing I had in
my mind for more than half year. My classmates wasn’t paying attention to tests,
grades or even homework. Students spent a lot time driving through the shops,
bargaining or dancing. As a result, school-leavers skipped a lot of lessons.
Personally, I don’t remember when I honestly prepare for the test. The worst thing
is then celebration is over. 12 grade students are like deceased. They need 24/7
hours to sleep. Maybe you are dutiful student and you come to school after a
celebration but you are so tired that there is no benefit of sitting in the lessons.
That’s definitely a real hindrance to 12 grade students, their results and education.
To conclude, I believe that we shouldn’t waste much time on this celebration. I
definitely understand that it is only once in our life but also exams, which we will
take one time, determine our future.
