AE6111 User Release Notes 3

ATTENTION:
 It is the responsibility of the user to verify all exposure settings and system set-up (Bucky and
detector selection) prior to making an X-ray exposure.
 Do not make an exposure unless both the detector and the user interface are prepared and in an
appropriate state to record the exposure.
 The patient size will always default to Medium, even if a different patient size is configured in
Procedure Mapping.
 The Trauma Default feature does not support Automatic Views Selection; therefore the patient
size will always default to Medium regardless of the patient size configured for the Trauma
default.
 The Pediatric Option is not supported by the Trauma button. A patient’s size will not be set
automatically based on the patient’s date of birth. Patient size will always default to Medium.
The user must manually select the appropriate patient size if they wish to use Trauma default.

Technique Settings
V5.7 supports CR techniques. When techniques are restored from an earlier version of software and
the backup contains site-specific custom Views, there will be no CR techniques. When any tabletop
View is selected by the user, the software will check for a CR technique first for that View (even if a
DR receptor will be used).
To avoid pop-up error messages that will be displayed even if the View is not done with CR, the Key
Operator must provide techniques for these Views. This can be done manually, or the Key Operator
can use the Technique Scaling feature in the Technique Settings menu.

189062
The software will allow the Key Operator to scale the techniques for individual patient sizes.
Workaround: The Key Operator must be sure to select all the patient sizes they wish to scale. The Key
Operator should also be sure that there are acceptable techniques for all the Views that might be
used.

DNS IP Address
When the network is configured you will be required to enter a Domain Controller Server (DNS) IP
address even if your site does not have a DNS server. Enter the same IP address that you use for the
default gateway so you can move past that field.

Extended Range
In V5.6, Extended Range was set up with an HTML script accessible by Service. It allowed a setting
change that could increase the perceived bit depth of images. This information is not included in the
V5.6 backup file. You must manually configure Extended Range in the Destination Configuration
menu after upgrading to V5.7. Once configured in V5.7, it will be included in the V5.7 backup file.

System Configuration
Changes made in to some menu items in Key Operator/ System Configuration will require the system to
reboot before they will be applied. The Key Operator can make all changes and reboot after all changes
are made. The following menu items are affected:
Display Configuration Layout
Configuration
Prior Images Configuration
Customizable Field Descriptions
Delivery Preferences
HIS/RIS Configuration

Simultaneous Cassette Scanning

In a Multi-Modality Acquisition configuration, when two CR Systems are directly connected, both can
scan cassettes at the same time without impacting each other. However, only one scanner can be
operated when performing Total Quality Tool (TQT) tests or doing diagnostic testing.

IHE Dose Reporting

CR Mammography systems do not receive all the data used to create a Dose Report from the
Mammography X-ray unit. For example, the Mean Glandular Dose is derived from Organ Dose. Organ
Dose is not sent from the Mammography X-ray unit. In view of this, a Dose Report for Mammography is
limited to the exposure parameters sent from the Mammography unit.

Successful Harvest Message
187092
When harvesting images immediately after a system reboot, there may be no pop-up message
indicating the harvest was successful.
Workaround: If the USB you are using to harvest the images lights up, wait until the light stops flashing
to remove the flash drive.

Bone Suppression
185084
The Bone Suppression companion image can only be generated successfully when the image is oriented
“head up”. If a View is configured to automatically generate a Bone Suppression companion image, be
sure the Auto Rotation option is enabled. If there is a need to re-do the Bone Suppression companion
image, use the following steps:
1. Rotate the Standard image to the correct orientation.
2. Delete the auto-created Bone Suppression Companion image.
3. Request a new Bone Suppression Companion image manually.

186745
The Bone Suppression View is rotated 90 degrees when displayed on the Image Acquisition screen.
Workaround: Select Back or Main Menu and reselect the same patient.

Snapshot Log Files

184877
When Snapshot Log Files is selected, a MICROSOFT window displays the progress of this action.
Workaround: Wait for the process to complete. Do not click Cancel, because the log collection will
abort.

18877
When performing a snapshot of the logs the system may freeze. If this occurs, restart the system.

DR Total Quality Tool (TQT)

185799
DR TQT Tolerance Configuration data is not viewable on the Console.
Workaround: Adjust the columns.

179079, 179004
Several DR TQT test results are invalid for the CARESTREAM DRX 2530C Detector.
Workaround: None at this time.

Multi-Format Printing
181419
Occasionally, annotated arrows placed on a Multi-Format image cannot be rotated.
Workaround: Place arrows on the image before composing the multi-format print.
188493
When the text box for a Multi-Format print is configured to display image magnification, the
magnification displayed on the Console could be different from the one on the printed film.
Workaround: No workaround is needed. The magnification displayed on the Console represents the
image magnification at the Console. The magnification printed on the film represents the image
magnification on the film.

Different Image Destinations

187775
If the Standard image and Companion image go to different destinations, follow these steps:
1. Create a copy of the Standard image.
2. Manually create the desired Companion View(s).
3. Deliver the missing image to the proper destination.

ROP Link
186495
If the Remote Operating Panel (ROP) loses connection to the CR, and using the ROP link does not
reestablish the connection, you will not be able to get back to the Main Menu.
Workaround: Reboot the ROP and/or check the network.

Enterprise Wireless: The Detector does not Show up in the Image Acquisition
Screen.
202272
You may get a popup when disabling the detector that states that the detector could not be configured.
Workaround: Reboot the Console and the detector.

Enterprise Wireless: The Acquiring Image State Remains

200302
After acquiring an image on a DRX-Revolution with Enterprise Wireless, the Image Acquisition screen
will display the Acquiring Image status for 1–3 seconds after the exposure is taken.

Backup/Restore Function does not Save Detector Calibration Files

204903
DRX Plus detector calibration files are located on the detector. Performing a Backup/Restore in the
Console software will not backup/restore DRX Plus calibration files. With DRX Plus, a backup for the
detector has to be done using the Detector Diagnostic Tool. This is a desktop application that can only
be initiated by a Service user.

Image Acquisition Screen does not Transition to Next Page when

Study Contains Multiple Pages
202449
When performing a study with multiple pages of Views, the system will default to page 1 after leaving
the Image Viewer screen and returning to the Image Acquisition screen. This happens even when all
of the Views on page 1 have been acquired.
Workaround: You must navigate to the next View.
