As they crested the last ridge, the two g-carriers made their way into the line of sight of their grounded ship.
Shortly afterwards, the first of the fighters screamed over the same ridge, and was promptly swatted out of the

sky by the transport’s laser cannons. The rest of the flight turned away, unwilling to risk dying in order to catch

Science fiction is full of anti-grav vehicles, from flying cars to sophisticated grav tanks, and speeders so fast
they scorch the air. Anti-gravity was very common in early science fiction, though advances in scientific under-
standing have deprecated the idea in more modern writing.
However, anti-gravity is still common in role playing games, and is a staple of Traveller.
The ten grav vehicles presented in this supplement are set in the Broken Arm universe, a high-tech setting with
different technological assumptions than the core Third Imperium setting (3I). However, while the descriptions
may vary from the Traveller standard, the statistics and designs are fully compatible with any Traveller game.
Grav vehicles in the Broken Arm are usually only found on the more advanced Wave One, Wave Two, and
Wave Three Worlds.
Anti-gravity vehicles in The Broken Arm use a new state of matter, called spin-3 matter, housed in containment
vessels called spindles. Spindles partially negate the effective mass of a vehicle, rendering it bouyant within a
standard atmosphere. The more powerful the system, the higher the flight ceiling. Additional lift and forward
thrust is provided by ducted turbofans that use lasers or electron beams to superheat the air within them, giving
thrust without fuel. Orbital operations are only possible with rockets.
