Justification

Through this research, the learning strategies used by the seventh semester of the bachelor's
degree in foreign languages of Uceva for the improvement of the oral production will be
identified. One of the main factors to have an assertive communication is an excellent oral
skill, in this globalized world an important demand is to be able to interact equally with the
rest of the world.

Establish which are the most used strategies for students in the university can help the
university community to use these strategies and achieve the oral level. Lindstrom (2001)
argues that acquiring a new language can be complicated, but all the strategies used to
improve communication skills are essential to make this process more enjoyable.

Within the field of education there is no doubt about the importance of the contribution of the
use of learning strategies in the process of training students. This paper attempts to reveal the
role of these strategies in the learning of a foreign language, specifically in the development
of oral production in English. In this case, the data and information obtained could help as a
contribution to a better understanding of the problem of low performance in oral production
skills, the importance of learning strategies in the training process of students and their
possible impact on the learning of that ability.

Similarly, this work could benefit teachers as it describes the type of strategies used by
students and their use. Such information can be useful to make it clear to teachers what kind
of strategies students would need further reinforcement in order to strengthen autonomous
learning processes.
