Overview:

Three different types of pollution are covered in detail in sections six, seven, and eight
of chapter 14. While this is not all the pollution that human being create it is an excellent start
to helping us understand that there are always consequences to the decisions we make. You
job in this activity will be to examine the three types; air, water, and solid waste pollution.

Directions:

For this assignment you are going to create a mind-map that demonstrates your
understanding of the three types of pollution; air, water, and solid waste. You will do this by
answering the central question…

What are the different types of pollution?


While it might seem simple at first, remember that you job is to show how much you know.
So, you will need to go beyond the basics and really use what you learned in the readings for
today’s lesson. Follow these tips to help you make a successful and useful mind-map.

Tips for Making a Good and Useful Mind-Map:

1. Create a series of topics and subtopics you want to have included in your mind-map
2. Descriptions or explanations of topic and subtopics should be done with as minimal
words as possible. Work to break concepts down to their bare necessities.
3. Include color that will help your eyes differentiate quickly between ideas and find the
topic you want even faster.
4. Make sure to create simple imagery that will make stronger associations and
remember the material.
