Final Year Project: Monitoring of The Progress
To enable better monitoring of students’ progress in carrying out their final year projects, students MUST
submit (i) a Project Planning Chart to their supervisor and (ii) a Progress Report
*The Project Planning Chart and Progress Report are given below.
It is essential that students plan their work progress for the following two semesters. The time chart may take
any form as long as it is comprehensible to the supervisor. In general, it should include the following
activities:

1. Project objectives: (Give the problem statement and a list of the objectives.)
2. Original project planning chart: (Give a detailed time chart to illustrate the project planning.)
3. Background study: (Give a brief account of the preparatory work carried out for the project. These
may include any background study and literature survey.)
4. Methodology: (Give justifications and details of the method(s) chosen for implementing the project.)
6. Progress: (Show the actual progress against your original project planning as given in 2. above.
Describe problems encountered, if any, throughout the project that may affect your progress.)
8. Work schedule and expected results for the next one to two months.
