Institution of Engineers (India)

The Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI] is a statutory body to promote and advance the
engineering and technology, established in 1920 and incorporated by Royal Charter in 1935.
It is the largest multi-disciplinary professional body of engineers encompassing 15 (fifteen)
engineering disciplines with a membership of more than 820 thousand, and serving the
nation for more than 9 decades. The IEI has its headquarters located in Kolkata with
national presence through more than hundred Centres and several Overseas Chapters, Fora
and Organ.
Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI) is the autonomous organ of Institution of Engineers
(India) set up about 37 years back by the visionaries of Institutions of Engineers (India) to
promote need based Continuing Professional Development Training Programmes,
simultaneously providing Consultancy & Technical Services to the Industry, Academics and
Research & Development in all the frontier areas of Engineering, Science & Technology and
Management fields.
IEI Shares the common understanding that reforms in training and professional development
are effective only when they are undertaken by faculty with high professional quality.
The ESCI has an extremely competent set of faculty members on its role, who have designed
the continuous professional development programme to provide a meaningful map of the
dimensions and stages of individual's professional development across all disciplines.

FOREWORD

The Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI) has for more than three decades played an important role in
providing Continuing Professional Development Programmes (CPDPs) constantly fine tuning engineering
knowledge and skills through Applied Research activity and feedback mechanism. Our panel of experts is drawn
from multi and inters disciplinary domains such as Climate Change, Civil / Transportation Engineering,
Environment Management, Information Technology, Management & Technology, Power & Energy, Quality &
Productivity and Water Resource Development.
The training calendar primarily focuses on CPDPs which combines different methodologies to learning, such as
training workshops, conferences and events, e-learning programs, best practice techniques and ideas sharing,
visits, out bound training, educational tours, all focused for an individual to improve and have effective
professional development. A structured, practical and methodical approach to learning helps employers across
industries to keep key staff and develop the skills and knowledge in their organizations to maintain a competitive
advantage. ESCI is the only institute in Asia, imparting such training in almost all engineering, scientific and
management domain under one roof.
It’s my privilege to inform you that ESCI is identified as one of the Key Resource Centers (KRC) for training
activities by the Central Electricity Authority, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Ministry of Rural Water
Supply and Department of Science & Technology. About 200 to 250 open and in-house programmes are being
conducted every year. On an average 6000 Engineers / Managers from Government, R & D, Public and Private
Sectors, Educational institutions are being trained at our campus.
ESCI played an active part in the Central Government's efforts to achieve national mission objectives in Swatch
Bharat (AMRUT), Rural Water Supply & Renewable Energy (Solar Photo Voltaic) and initiatives in Skill
Development. Our Institute is venturing into emerging technologies such as Additive Manufacturing, Climate
Change (Carbon footprints), Intelligent Buildings, Information Security, Green Energy, Smart Grid, Block-Chain,
IoT, AI, Unmanned Autonomous Vehicles, and ISO Accreditations. Our Faculty Development Programmes (FDP)
focus on accreditation and proficiency development of TEQIP Institutions
To bridge the gap between industry and academics ESCI is conducting AICTE approved PGDM courses.
The aim is to empower a student with apt skill for professional growth and to design their career in a
structured manner.
ESCI has also carried out various prestigious World Bank assignments including programmes for
international organizations like UNESCO, UNICEF, FANSA in India and abroad.
Keeping the dynamic requirements and the ever increasing training needs of our customers, we have in
2019-20 calendar included new programmes such as Block-Chain Technology, Cyber Security, Climate
Change, 3D Printing, simulation programmes etc. Social media and digital marketing including an “ESCI
app” for enhanced outreach has been launched recently. This will benefit our participants and the sponsoring
organizations. We hope that the Professional Development Programmes scheduled for the FY 2019-20 will meet
the expectations of our esteemed customers and we look forward to your continued patronage to ESCI’s
educational endeavors.

Mission

To provide qualitative education, training and applied research in the fields of technology
and management. To assist the engineering fraternity to be innovative and advanced to
meet the challenges in the unbounded world of tomorrow and to be the front line interface
between academia, research, industry and other sectors in advanced
Engineering/Technological application and Key enabler in fostering High and Thrust
area programmes.

Genesis

The world's largest multi-disciplinary engineering professional body “The Institution of


Engineers (India)” was established in the year 1920 and incorporated by the Royal
Charter of England in the year 1935. To update the knowledge of professionals in frontier
areas of Engineering, Science, Technology and Management, The Institution of
Engineers (India) established “Engineering Staff College of India” in October 1981 at
Hyderabad.

Philosophy & Objectives

The primary Objectives of ESCI are to impart need based Continuing Professional
Development Training Programmes, simultaneously providing Consultancy & Technical
Services to the Industry, Academics and Research & Development in all the frontier
areas of Engineering, Science & Technology and Management fields. ESCI's operations
are firmly grounded (rooted) in its desire to act as a bridge between Academic
Institutions, Industry and R&D laboratories and increased availability of latest know-how
and expertise to engineering professionals and managers in all these sectors. ESCI
also acts as a catalyst in transformation of knowledge and skills from Veterans to young
generation who have stepped into the industry directly from academics. ESCI, as a
unique Centre for Promotion of Quality Training and Professional Excellence has been
fulfilling this role in today's fast changing technological world around us.
ESCI has completed more than three decades of its glorious service to the Nation in
imparting Quality Training & Professional Excellence to the Engineers, Scientists,
Techno-managers in the areas such as : Climate Change, Civil / Transportation,
Environment Management, Information Technology, Management & Technology, Power
& Energy, Quality & Productivity, Design & Prototyping, Faculty Development, Skill
Development and Water Resources, besides providing Consultancy Services to the
Industry and Government Departments.

FUNCTIONALITY OF ESCI DIVISIONS

1. Centre for Climate Change (CCC) :


(a) Primary objective of the centre is to promote awareness on climate change
perspectives in diversified domains of environment, social and development
sectors. Aims to build capacities through consultative / training workshops, round
table discussions, symposiums, conferences and action research studies. Further
encourages innovation through incubation facility. Promotes synergy through
institutional collaboration and partnership.
(b) Also, center offers tailor made thematic training programs and workshops. Further,
focus on mainstreaming principles & practices of climate adaptation and mitigation
through multi – disciplinary approaches. Encourages participants to enable to
develop” Implementation Manual”, as part of training course. Promotes special
focus on mainstreaming disaster risk reduction as integral part of planning and
development.
(c) Centre emphasizes on sustainable indicators and goals, establishment of
measurable indicators towards a way forward in climate adaptation & mitigation.
Extends advisory consultation services and studies.

2. Civil / Transportation Engineering (CTE) :
(a) The division offers professional training in the areas of Construction Management,
Pavement Technologies including Urban and Rural Road Technologies for PMGSY
Projects, Transportation Management, Road Safety Management, Traffic
Management, Project Management in Constructions Projects, Contract
Management including Arbitration and Dispute Resolutions etc.
(b) The division has imparted training for various Government Departments like Roads
and Buildings, PWD, Municipal Corporations, Ministry of Road Transportation and
Highways, NRRDA, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Authorities, Ports,
Housing Boards, GHMC, Chhattisgarh Housing Board, CIDCO, Railways and
Military Engineering Service, Border Road and Defense Studies...

(c) The division also organized In-House training programmes to both Public and
Private Sectors like State Tourism Development Corporations, NBCC, LIC, DSIIDC,
Jindal Steels, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd., SEW Constructions,
Meenakshi Group, Ramky Group, Lanco Infra, Aparna Constructions & Estates Pvt.
Ltd., ONGC, ISRO and Indu Projects, etc.

(d) As part of promotion of training amongst member countries of International Network


for Professional Engineers Development Institutes (INPEDI), training programmes
on “Maintenance of Infrastructure “are being conducted by the division on regular
basis both in India & abroad under 'UNESCO' contribution.

3. Environment Management (EM) :
EM Division imparts chalk-talk and practical oriented training programmes with real
time case studies in the domain areas of Water Supply and Sanitation, Septage
Management, Environment Monitoring, Waste Management, Sewerage System and
Environment Data Management etc... Continuing Professional Development
Programmes are conducted every year for the officials of Ministries, Regulatory
Boards, Government Departments, Public Sectors, Industries, Academics and other
Stakeholders. Need based Specific Training Programmes for organizations like
CPCB, NMDC, ONGC, MoUD, MoHUPA and ULBs etc. are also conducted.

Monitoring and Modeling, GIS, GPS & RS Applications. Environmental Data
Management and Continuous Emission Monitoring System.

Demolition and Hazardous Waste.
(c) Water Supply and Sanitation: Water Supply System, Water Audit & Leakage
Control, Instrumentation, SCADA, RS & GIS applications, Underground Sewerage
System, Sewage Treatment Plants, Strom Water Drainage, Recycle and Reuse of
Waste Water, Membrane Based Waste Water Treatment Technology, CETPs,
Fecal Sludge Management, Detailed Project Report, Contract & Tendering and
Service Level Benchmark etc.
(d) Environmental and Social Issues: Environmental Impact Assessment,
Environmental Management Plan, Environmental Legislations, Environmental
and Social Impact Assessment, Rehabilitation & Resettlement and Environmental
and Social Framework etc.
(e) Government Missions: AMRUT, SMART CITY, SWACHH BHARAT, HRIDAY,
PMAY, NULM, Social Livelihood, SM&ID, EST&P, SUP and SUH etc..
Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, GOI empanelled ESCI as a Training Entity to
execute the Capacity Building Programmes in order to strengthen capacities of
Urban Local Bodies, States and other stakeholders for efficiently rolling out Urban
Flagship Missions (AMRUT, Smart Cities, HRIDAY, Swachh Bharat Mission, PMAY
& NULM etc.) in the areas of Engineering, Public Health, Town Planning and Urban
Social Aspects through Environment Management Division of ESCI. Accordingly,
Environment Management Division has already concluded MoUs with the
concerned authorities of the State Governments of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh,
Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Chandigarh, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Puducherry,
Haryana, Mizoram and Meghalaya.
Capacity Building Programmes have already been taken up under Capsule-1,
Capsule-2 and Capsule-3 for these states in the areas of Engineering & Public
Health and Town Planning for engineering officials of ULBs as well as Elected
Representatives. So far we have trained more than 2000 participants across
various states under. Eight major workshops under Swachh Survekshan ranking
were conducted for the state of Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh
etc… Consultancy assignments in areas relating to EIA and Urban Water Supply
and Sanitation, Preparation of DPRs for Construction of STPs etc. are also taken
up by this division.
4. Information Technology (IT) :
IT Division offers highly focused and advanced practical oriented training modules in
diverse areas of Information Technology. It also amalgamates the new concept of
Internet of Things (IoT), and Data Science the training programmes are the growing
needs of IT professionals in the areas of IT Infrastructure Service (IT IS), Cloud
Computing, Software Development, IT Applications, Cyber Security, and Data
Analytics

Defence Tool, Digital Forensic Investigation, Mobile Security, Wireless Security,
Security Audit, Information Security Management System (SMS) Lead Implementer
(ISO 27001: 2013), Data Analytics Using MS Excel, R tool, SPSS, Hadoop & Spark
tool. Embedded Systems, Robotics, and Internet of things (IoT).
A large number of IT professionals from various Government & Public Sector
Organizations like Power Grid Corporation, MAHAGENCO, NTPC NMDC, Defence,
DRDO, BPR&D, Professors, Technical and Non-Technical members of Engineering
Colleges, NIT's, IIT's & Various Universities participate in the programmes.
5. Management & Technology (M&T) :
ESCI has the core competency to conduct Continual Professional Development
Programmes (CPDPs) and Special Tailor-made Training Programmes in various
disciplines under Management and Technology fields.

(a) Consultancy Services: Management & Technology has also been doing
consultancy services in HR domain like preparing Question banks for the conduct
of Promotion exams for various Industries from Public Sector.
(b) Design & Prototyping Centre (DPC)
(I) Design & Prototyping Cell (DPC) is a Technology Demonstration Centre (TDC)
with a mandate to spread Emerging Technologies among students,
academicians, scholars, working professionals and technology enthusiasts.
The Centre functions as a Facilitator, Coordinator and Collaborator for
conducting Training Programs, rendering Technology Services, organizing R&D
and Engineering Consultancy Projects.
(ii) DPC along with ESCI's National & International Associations / Technology
Partners and eminent Technology, Engineering Medical & Management experts
strives to bridge the gap between Research Labs, Academic Institutions and the
Industry.
With the repute of being a premier Professional Education & Training Institute
and assimilation of the best from Industry & Institute, the Centre has expanded
its horizon in sync with the Govt. of India's schemes such as Make in India,

6. Power & Energy (P&E) :
This division`s primary role is in developing and imparting professional training and
disseminating knowledge of the latest development in the field of Power Utility
Generation, Transmission and Distribution and in the Energy sector, covering best
practices in Captive Power Plant and process industries. The key domain areas covered
by Power & Energy Division are:
(a) Power Generation (Thermal, Hydro & Gas): Power System protection, C&I
including PLC & DCS, Best practices in O&M of Power plant equipment, Design and
Performance of Heat Exchangers, Pumps, Coal Pulverizer etc., Condition
Monitoring of Power plant equipment, Reliability centered Maintenance, O&M of
Valves and Actuators, Blending of coal, Electrical safety procedures and Statutory
Regulatory and Environment issues,
(b) Solar Power: Roof Top Solar PV module and other renewable energy generation
and integration with grid.
(c) Transmission: O&M of Power transformers and EHT Circuit breakers, Power
cables selection, Energy Audit and Loss reduction in T&D system, Open access
and Power trading, Smart grid, Protection Control and Monitoring, Substation
Automation System. EHT lines - Survey, Erection, Testing & Commissioning.
(d) Distribution: Smart Grids and Smart Meters, Digital Energy Meters functions &
applications, Statutory Regulatory issues, Pilferage, Electrical safety procedures,
Revenue Management, Franchisee Model, O&M of distribution transformers and
substations. Energy audit and loss reduction, open access, power trading.
(e) Industry, Oil & Gas: Design and O&M of equipment like Compressors and drives,
Deep drilling Rigs and Oil field equipment, Heat Exchangers etc. in process
industries, Petroleum, Refineries and Petrochemicals, safety aspects, Risk based
in-service inspection.
(f) Energy: Energy Audit and pre-training for Energy Manager Certification test
(g) Consultancy: Providing Consultancy in areas of Power generation, transmission,
distribution, Energy sector, Non-renewable energy including grid integration.
7. Quality & Productivity (Q&P) :
The objective of the division is to design and conduct training programmes for different
sectors to improve Quality of Products & Services. The courses offered are related to
continual improvement in systems, products & processes by applying contemporary
Quality improvement tools and methods; provide consultancy support to obtain
Accreditation/Certification; and guide in the implementation Quality improvement
initiative in various organization and educational institutions. The domain expertise
cuts across:

8. Technology & Automation :
This is the age of Automation. We hear about various terms like "Home Automation,"
“Office Automation," “Industrial Automation," "Factory Automation," etc. In the pursuit of
increasing human comfort, scientific and technical community is persistently and
extensively persevering "to enable individuals to achieve doing more with less effort and
with consistent quality”. As a result, every human activity - both private as well as public -
is undergoing transformation under the influence of changing technologies, automation
and robotics.
Several rudimentary stages of comprehending, designing, developing, producing,
implementing, operating and maintaining of automation system are the main
components of any automation system.
Starting with the academic year, 2018 - 2019, ESCI is embarking on conducting training
programmes for bringing in such awareness for the aspirants in the above areas.
9. Water Resources Development (WRD) :
WRD Division is the oldest division established at the time of inception of ESCI.
The primary objective of the division is to enhance professional development skills of
engineers working in Irrigation, Agriculture, Water Supply and Sanitation Sector. WRD
Division also desires to elevate capabilities and performance levels of engineers for
improved delivery levels of engineers in their respective fields.
In addition to Continuing Professional Development Programmes (CPDPs) WRD
Division also conducts specific training and tailor made programmes for government
departments and other agencies like UNICEF, GIZ, JICA etc.,

10. Faculty Development Cell (FDP)
(a) FDP cell was established with an objective to impart training/consulting and research
activities towards World Bank TEQIP Funded Institutions. Programs organized
by FDP Cell include Enhancement of R&D, Faculty and Staff Development,
Enhanced Interaction with Industry, Institutional Management Capacity
Enhancement, Institutional Academic Reforms, and Academic Support for
Weak Students, Entrepreneurship Development etc. within TEQIP / Non - TEQIP
Engineering Universities and Colleges at National Level. FDP Cell is established to
offer our services to the university and technical institutions affiliated to the university
as per the provisions of TEQIP III. FDP Cell Offer services in house to benefit larger
number of participants from the same institution. TEQIP III has the option of hiring
services of consultants through BOG approvals. Our services could be obtained
following Consultant Qualification procedure of the World Bank. We also offer
content up-gradation training with collaboration with industry at various venues
across the country.
(b) We understand that accreditation by NBA is mandatory for all institutions as declared
by AICTE and UGC. TEQIP III also requires all institutions covered under the Project
to obtain accreditation. To begin with, FDP Cell could guide all our benefiting
institutions to obtain accreditation by NBA.
11. Skill Development Centre (SDC)
(a) India is a country today with 65% of its youth in the working age group. If ever there is
a way to reap this demographic advantage, it has to be through skill development of
the youth so that they add not only to their personal growth, but to the country's
economic growth as well. ESCI has taken up the NSDC STAR program and got
affiliated with 6 sector skill councils of India (Agriculture, Automotive, Retail, Rubber,
Construction and Telecom) and trained more than 5000 candidates for NSDC Star
Program in India (Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Odisha).
(b) RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) : DGE&T working group on construction sector
was formed by the Director General of Employment and Training (DGE&T), Ministry
of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India to evaluate the
strategies for skill up-gradation of workers engaged in construction sector nationally
in partnership with State Construction Welfare Board (CWBs) considering the
informal nature of the sector, the assessments are widely conducted in 2 ways i.e.
Pre Assessment and Final Assessment, In pre assessment primary knowledge IS
checked of candidate via interviews over safety and safety tools. After Pre
assessment candidates are referred for completing skill gaps with training of 120
hours with direct certification. In final assessment practical knowledge is evaluated
by Assessors & during assessment who is deemed fit for the industry and
recognized. The candidates who passed in final assessment scoring with more than
75% marks they get certificate from Regional Directorate of Apprenticeship Training
(RDAT). ESCI has successfully completed Pre assessment of 66000 Workers and
Final Assessment of 57000 Workers Totaling 1, 23,000 Candidates.
(c) Modular Employable Skills (MES) :- Assessments executed and Certificates issued
by ESCI on following are more than few hundreds approx 575 candidates covered
under the scheme. The courses are Banking & Accounting (BAN), Fashion Design
(FAD), Soft and Entrepreneurship Skill (SES), Information and communication
Technology (ICT), Construction (CON), Courier & Logistics (COL), Garment Making
(GAR), Security (SEC).

In 2008, School of PG Studies of ESCI started


AICTE approved two year full time Post
Graduate Diploma In Management -
Infrastructure Management and PGDM-
General. Aim of the courses is to build the
capacity of the engineers and other graduates
by imparting skills to make them effective and
productive managers.

PGDM –INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT:


ESCI offers 2 year full time PG diploma programme in Infrastructure Management covering the
areas of Power & Energy, Transport, Telecommunications, Civil Constructions, Water
Resources and Urban Development. Objectives of this programme are to develop a cadre of
Techno Managers by enhancing the managerial skills among engineers to meet the
requirements of fast growing infrastructure sector in the country.
PGDM –GENERAL:
Based upon its track record, AICTE has approved the
commencement of another management programme in
2010. Two years full time PGDM with specialization in
Finance, HRM, Marketing, Operation and Telecom & ITis
open to graduates of all streams provided they meet
minimum admission criteria. This course aims at
students acquiring appropriate skills in latest concepts of
management, industry requirement and international
standards to enter the global market to meet the 21st
century challenges.
Apart from the regular curriculum the students are encouraged and trained to get certified for
various certified programmes like Digital Marketing, SAP and Entrepreneurship development
etc. Placement assistance is provided by ESCI.
The Courses are also subscribed by Service officer from India Armed Forces. The Syllabus has
been recently revise to keep in pace with the industrial needs for profession and important
topics like Blockchain Technology, RERA etc has been also added

Introduction:
Institution of Engineers (India)has setup laboratories in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical
Engineering, Civil Engineering and Electronics Engineering at ESCI Campusto conduct
practical training and examinations for the students appearing in different disciplines of AMIE.
ESCI is also inviting the students from various engineering colleges for preparing themselves by
practicing in these labs before they appear in the final examinations. The rich knowledge and

2. Electrical Engineering Laboratory
The Electrical Engineering Laboratory at ESCI is equipped with latest hardware-simulators
wherein candidates can make different connections and conduct experiments related to the
modules described below. The facilities are designed not only to safely withstand inadvertent
human errors of the students but also to simulate typical faults so as to help the candidates get a
hands-on experience of the effect of these faults and drill them in developing resolute and
correct reactions.

3. NABL Accredited: Civil Engineering Testing Lab (CETL)
Civil Engineering Testing Laboratory (CETL), CETL provide services in many fields such
as Soil Testing, Sub-Soil investigation, Non-Destructive testing, third party inspection for Quality
Control and Quality Assurance. CETL is equipped with all latest equipment for soil, material
testing activities. With an aim of providing Quality services to customers, these test
equipmentand machinery are duly calibrated and maintained through NABL approved
Laboratory and monitored by engineers having vast experience in quality control in many
disciplines of work.All tests are conducted as per applicable National / International Standards.

Faculty Profile

Brigadier A Umar Farook, VSM (Retd.) was commissioned in the


Corps of Signals in the year 1982 from Officers Training Academy
(OTA), Chennai. He is an alumnus of Defence Services Staff College,
Wellington and did his Post Graduation, M. Tech from IIT, Delhi.
Besides this, he holds Master's Degree in Public Administration from
Madras University and MBA from Central University, Pondicherry.
The Brigadier has held varied Command and Staff appointments
in his 33 years of Army career. He commanded an Infantry Divisional
Mobile Radio Engineering Signal Regiment during Operation
Parakaram on the Line of Control. His staff appointments include Joint
Brig. A Umar Farook, Director in the Financial Planning at Army Headquarters, Director,
VSM (Retd), FIE,
Management Information System and Director, Army Commander
Director, ESCI
Special Financial Power in the Northern Army. As Chief Signal Officer
of a Corps in Northern Sector, Brigadier Farook was instrumental in providing state-of-the art
combat communication in intense counter Insurgency environment. He has also served as
Network Administrator of the Indian Army, where he not only brought latest information
technology concepts but also ensured optimization of the communication network of the Indian
Army. He was Station Commander, Chennai Garrison and Chief Signal Officer of five Southern
Indian States of Andhra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and the Union Territory of
Pondicherry. The Officer was approved to the rank of Major General in the Corps of Signals.
During his chequered career, the officer has done numerous courses from a number of
prestigious institutions like National Institute of Financial Management, Faridabad, College of
Combat, Mhow, College of Defence Management, Secunderabad and National Institute of
Advanced Studies, Bangalore.
On superannuation in June 2015, Brigadier Farook assumed the appointment of coveted
position of General Manager at Electronic Corporation of India Limited (ECIL). He steered
various groups under Defence Systems, Control Systems, Communication Systems and
Integrated Security System verticals besides being the Factory Manager of ECIL for a span of
almost three years. During this period he has contributed immensely in the field of ground
support electronics and control &instrumentation pertaining to strategic electronics domain of
the Defence, Atomic Energy & Security. He has been an active member of the R&D Committee
which worked closely with BARC Scientists. As a member of top management of ECIL, he has
provided excellent leadership to steer various Make-in-India programmes that has paid rich
dividends to both the organization and the country.
The Brigadier has to his credit a number of Technical & Management research papers that
have been published in leading journals. The officer has submitted his Pre-Ph.D. thesis for
award of Ph.D. in Technology Management from Pondicherry Central University. He is a fellow
of Institution of Telecommunication Engineers and Chartered Engineer of Institution of
Engineers India. The officer has extensively travelled on official duties to Hungary, Italy,
Switzerland, UAE, France and Belarus.
Brigadier Farook took over as Director, Engineering Staff College of India, Hyderabad on
01 Jun 18. As Director, ESCI he has ensured Govt. of India flagship programme like AMRUT has
been successfully conducted in many states including North Eastern States. He is actively
involved in managing programmes for improving the social up-liftment of the masses in
collaboration with UNICEF, FANSA, Centre for Pollution Control and other International
organization
He was awarded “VishishtSeva Medal” by President of India in 2013 for distinguished
service and 'Citizen of the Year' by Chief Minister of Pondicherry in 2015.

Strategic Management (Defence Studies) both from Osmania University. He

over 35 years and has served in almost all weapon systems in the IAF.

Gp. Capt. (Retd) B.S. Phillora He was Directing Staff at Prestigious College of Defence Management,
Dean of Studies,
Secundrabad for 04 years. In 2008 he led Tri-services Senior Officers from
Head – M&T & DPC College of Defence Management on a Study cum Military Operations mission, to
Israel & Egypt. He has also served with Indian Peace Keeping Force in Sri Lanka
in 1987 to1990. He is recipient of Commendations from CAS (IAF) and CISC
while serving with IAF. He has written various services and research papers and
participated in various National & International Conferences. In ESCI he has
designed, developed and conducted over 250 programmes in Management &
