Quantum Shell: The energy level of an electron.

The size and shape of the orbitals means that there is a 90% probability of finding the electron within their boundaries.

The s-orbitals are spherical and the p-orbitals are elongated (in the shape of a dumbbell).

Electronic configuration:
The electronic configuration of an atom of an element is the distribution of electrons among atomic orbitals.

Hund's rule states that electrons will occupy the orbitals singly before pairing takes place.

The Pauli Exclusion Principle states that two electrons cannot occupy the same orbital unless they have opposite spins.
