Limited. Special thanks to Mr. Fazlur Rahman, FCA & CFO (Financial
Control Department) who provided me valuable information, guided me on
exploration to have an insight on the subject.

Muiniddin Khan, South East University, Dhaka, Bangladesh for his
guidance, spontaneous support, constant supervision and constructive
suggestions. Without his help this report could not have been a
comprehensive one.
 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Arab Bangladesh Bank limited, the first private sector Bank of the country,
has undertaken many innovative ideas to develop the Banking sector in the
country. From the very beginning of its start, bank contributes a lot in the
country economy developing remote areas by extending its branches,
Develop business houses by funding new and lot business houses. It also
collect deposit from the market make them shape for economic growth. My
analysis relied on the annual reports 2001-2005. Performance of ratio
analysis, Forecasting and risk measures provided us with insights of the
Company’s overall performance. Though we tried to examine overall
effectiveness of the Bank, I also relied on textbooks and classroom
discussion to compile it in a shorter form. My analysis led me to these
findings that this Bank has made significant profits over the period even so
in a country marked by high uncertainty. Since they are relatively old in
Business, They have good future prospects with what they have achieved so
far. It is proved that AB Bank has the ability to absorb any kind of attack in
the market that is flank attack by competitors and also its clients.
