WITNESS
1 Pet. 3:15,16 –
Witnessing is “one beggar telling another beggar where he found bread”.
Soulwinning – personally sharing the good news of salvation with the lost
Witness – a Christian who tells others about what Jesus Christ has done in
his life
Gospel – the good news that Christ died, was buried, and rose again the
third day and has forgiven our sins
1. We are to go and teach all nations about Jesus Christ. (Mt. 28:19,20)
2. We are to be fishers of men. (Mt. 4:19)
3. We are entrusted with the gospel. (1 Thess. 2:3,4)
Three simple steps to sharing the Gospel (memorize these truths):
1. We all are sinners. (Rom. 3:23)
2. Christ died on the Cross because He loves us. (Jn. 3:16)
3. We may accept God’s gift of eternal life by trusting in Him. (Rom.
10:9)

us as witnesses.” (Anonymous)

Witnessing is not merely an activity – it is a way of life. Christians don’t do
witnessing. They are witnesses – good or bad.
Some people never read the Bile and seldom attend church. Let them see
what Christ has done for you.
You are writing a Gospel, a chapter each day,
By the deeds that you do and the words that you say.
Men read what you write – distorted or true;
What is the Gospel according to you?
1 Jn. 1:3 – “seen and heard”
Witnessing is a style of living – you are a witness at all times.
You witness by your life.
Actions are often more revealing than words.
Your actions, however, are not sufficient to communicate to another the
message of the gospel of Christ.
You also need to witness by your words.
One very effective means of communicating to another person is the story
of how God has worked in your life.
Evangelism Prayer List
Rom. 10:1
A key to seeing people come to Christ is to be specifically praying for them
and “having them on your heart.”
Setting Up Your Evangelism Prayer List
1. Pray for wisdom in establishing your prayer list.
2. List 5-10 contacts: neighbors, relatives, people at work, friends, etc.
Add more names later.
3. Use a 3 x 5 card to list these people and carry it in your Bible for
easy reference. Put the card in hyour reading Bible as a marker.
(Pray regularly for these people and develop relationships with
them.)
Developing Contacts with Non-Christians
1. Take the initiative to meet people, welcome new neighbors, and
make friends.
2. Do things to deepen your relationships with them. (sports, hobbies,
etc.)
