III. RATIONALE:

The DepEd (DO) no. 35, s. 2016 defines a LAC as “ a group of teachers who
engaged in collaborative learning sessions to solve shared challenges encountered in
the school, facilitated by the school head or a designed LAC Leader. LACs are
school-based communities of practice that active, caring, and safe spaces.”

The SCHOOL-BASED LAC SESSION ON ELLN aims to improve the teaching-

learning process to improve learning among students, nurture successful teachers,
enable teachers supports each other to continuously improve their content and
pedagogical knowledge, practice, skills, and attitudes, foster a professional
collaborative spirit among school heads, teachers, and the community as a whole.

IV. Objectives

Objectives of this School-Based LAC Session on ELLN are as follows:

 Familiarize the k-3 teachers with the reading materials that fit to the pupils
interests and needs
 Develop the reading ability of pupils
 Talk about the early literacy instruction and share their techniques on how they
teach young learners develop literacy skills
