The yellow park

In a yellow sundress

Skips away a beauty

Dancing and swaying,

To the rhythm of the breeze.

The sun, hot on the surface of her skin

Casting a yellow warmth on her being.

Strands falling loose from a careless bun

As she bounces on her heals.

The green of the earth,

Soft and scruffy on her instep.

Tickling and teasing

The centre on which she stands.

An auburn shade making the tips of her strands glow,

Falling around her waist.

Arms wide open,

She fills her nostrils with the smell of summer.

Ticks and chirps of the garden bugs

Thrumming in her ears.

She sways, eyes closed

To a personal orchestra of summer in a park across the road.
