Appendix 4
Introduction Letter for the Focused Interview

I am a doctoral student at the University of London, Institute of Education. I am

conducting a research on what your university has done in response to the HIV
and AIDS epidemic in relation to staff members, the experiences learnt so far,
challenges and what is seen as the best way forward. I am requesting you to share
with me your experiences on this.

This will be done in the form of a short interview where you will share your
experiences and views as a senior person in your university. I am kindly
requesting you to allow me to tape record the interview. The interview should
last about 30 minutes.

Kindly let me know the most convenient place where we can talk without being
interrupted. My telephone contact is 0722-329420 or 4440184.

Thanking you in advance

Yours truly

Nyokabi Kamau
