Note: Consideration should be given when selecting a suitable DC electric winch, a long
run time at high loads in the upper limits of the winch will cause shorter life expectancy.
We recommend selecting a winch working within 60% of its capacity to reduce current
draw and maintain a higher speed. Example: for a 1000kg line pull requirement use 1667kg.
calculated as 1000 /.60 = 1667. therefore 1667 x 60% = 1000kg
It is also important to select how many layers of rope are needed and the expected line
pull requirement on the upper layers.
When selecting hydraulic, AC or three phase electric winches some considerations are
also required, reducing the events of reaching maximum capacity will increase winch
life. A surplus of at least 20% is recommended for example use a 1000kg winch where
800kg is required and once again check upper rope layer requirements.

% gradient is calculated as follows eg: 100 % is a rise of 10 meters
every 10 meters... 40% is a rise of 4 meters every 10 meters.
