Content : Reflective Essay in the Care of Mother, Child, Adolescent ( Well
Clients)

I’ve just completed my OPD rotation, and to be honest it was everything I

thought it would be and many things that I didn’t think it would be. It was the best of
times and the worst of times all at once. When I started my second semester in Cit-U,
one of the first things I looked at on my schedule and the environment OPD rotation
fell. It came near the very end, so I had the entire semester to think about how I would
approach my Clinical Instructor and asking what will do. Finally, it came and I quickly
found myself in situations that I could not have imagined for my past year in my
previous school.

As a student nurse you have entire responsibilities that you should focus and
learn for your mistake in the hospital setting, there is a lot of experience and you can
apply it to become a bitter nurse. In my OPD rotation my Clinical Instructor she is the
one who teach us and motivate us, She also encourage you to do IM with the mother it
was a nervous part but the time I perform the IM I realized that I can do it. But the
best thing that I do in my rotation is assessing the doctor in performing the Pap Smear.

This clinical experience has made me so excited for my nursing future because I
am beginning to see the different career paths a nurse can take. Making the decision
of where I want to specialize is going to be difficult, but how many careers get as many
choices as us.
