UNF-57 RADIOGRAPHIC EXAMINATION (a) Vessels or parts of vessels constructed of nonfer- rous materials shall be radiographed in accordance with the requirements of UW-11_ (B) In addition. for vessels constructed of titanium. or zirconium and their alloys. all joints of Categories A and B shall be fully radiographed in accordance with UW-S1 (©) Welded butt joints in vessels constructed of mate- tials listed in Table UNF-23.3. with the exception of ys 200 (UINS No. NO2200). 201 (UNS No. NO2201). 400 CUNS No. N04400), 401 (UNS No. N04401). and 600 (UINS No. N06600). shall be examined radiographi- cally for their full length as prescribed in UW-S1 when the thinner of the plate or vessel wall thicknesses at the welded joint exceeds 34 in. (10 mm). (@) Where a defect is removed and welding repair is not necessary. care shall be taken to contour notches or comers. The contoured surface shall then be reinspected by the same means originally used for locating the defect to be sure it has been completely removed.
