Bouncing Popcorn!

PROBLEM
What is the reaction of
baking soda with vinegar
to objects in water?
HYPOTHESIS
The objects in the water together
with baking soda and vinegar will
be covered in bubbles.

Fuzz will be filling the bottle.


MATERIALS
Baking Soda - Vinegar - Glass - Popcorn Kernels
- Food Coloring - Water
PROCEDURE
Pour water in glass.

Mix food coloring


in water.

Put 2 tbsp baking


soda in water. Mix
well.
Put popcorn kernels
inside glass.

Pour 6 tbsp vinegar


and mix.

Watch the popcorn kernels


bounce up and down!
RESULTS
The baking soda
and vinegar react
by creating bubbles.

The bubbles stuck


on the popcorn
kernels making it
go up and down.
CONCLUSION
Popcorn kernels were full of bubbles!

Fuzz began once the vinegar mixed with the


baking soda in the water.

The popcorn kernels with bubbles bounced up


and down for an hour before settling down.
