THERE WAS A MEETING AT THE WINNEMUCCA INDIAN COLONY,on the 07th of January at
6~00P.M. ,and Mr. Robert Hunter was present to Swear in the new CouncilMember's of the
WINNEMUCCA INDIAN COLONY. (Five Person's were Elected te serve on ·the council •seat'~).
Those Elected were. Robert Harney-Chairmen,Louella Brown-Vice-Chairmen,Kayleen Brown-
Secretary,Terri Snapp-Treasure,and Snyder Brown-Council Member.Mr.Snyder Brown was not
present,so only the other four Member's were Sworn in.Old member's present were;Ciorinda r
George andJeannette Dick.Next meeting to be held the First Monday in February.Meeting
was Ajourned at 1;00 P.M.

RESOLUTION OF THE
WINNEMUCCA INDIAN COLONY
WINNEMUCCA, NEVADA

\
WHEREAS, the Winnemucca Indian Colony is organized in accordance with Section
16 of the Indian Reorganization Act ·of June 18, 1934, and federally
recognized by the United States Government; and

WHEREAS, the Bureau of Indian Affairs has P.L. 93-638 Indian Self-Determination
Grants and Contracts to provide law enforcement and judicial services
to Indian Tribes; and

WHEREAS, the Winnemucca Indian Colony tribal members have a need for judicial
~ervices for offenses, both civil and criminal, committed within
the external boundaries of the Winnemucca Indian Colony; and
WHEREAS, the Fort McDermitt Paiute/Shoshone Tribe has submitted a request for
a Judicial Services Contract with the Bureau of Indian Affairs for
FY 87; and

WHEREAS, the Winnemucca Indian Colony tribal members wish to be included in

the FY 87 Judicial Services Contract with the Fort McDermitt Paiute/
Shoshone Tribe; and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Chairman, or in his absence, the Vice-
Chairman of the Fort McDermitt Tribal Council be authorized to execute
the contract or amendments thereto, for the duration of the contract
period and to negotiate necessary modifications and renewals of
future contracts until contract is closed; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that prior to the execution of the contract or any

amendments thereto, that there be a full review of the contract and/or
amendments by the Winnemucca Tribal Council at a duly called meeting
with a quorum present; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this contract begin October 1, -1. 986 and terminate
on September 30, 1987,

It is hereby certified that the Winnemucca Colony Tribal Council is the

governing body of the Winnemucca Indian Colony, composed of five (5)
members of whom~ constituting a quorum were present at a meeting duly
