- Conditioning: the process of training or accustoming a person or animal to behave in

a certain way or to accept certain circumstances.


- Classical conditioning: A stimulus is anything that causes a response in a human or
animal.
- Operant conditioning:is a method of learning that occurs through rewards and
punishments for behavior. 
- Reinforcement: reinforcers (positive or negative) increase the likelihood of a
behavioral response.
- Punishment:to refer to any change that occurs after a behavior that reduces the
likelihood that that behavior will occur again in the future.
- Negative reinforcement: a response or behavior is strengthened by stopping,
removing, or avoiding a negative outcome or aversive stimulus.
- Positive reinforcement: encouraging a certain behavior through a system of praise
and rewards.
