LONG AND SHORT SPEECH ON GIRL EDUCATION

GIRL EDUCATION SPEECH – 1

Good morning to all present here today on this
very special day/occasion of —– I, XYZ, student of
class ___ or House ___________, am here to impress
upon you the importance of educating girls.

When we talk about girls we talk about half of the

population, half of those people who are talented,
powerful, resourceful and full of energy however
untapped. Souls that are equal in every aspect to
the other half whom we call boys.

A lot of us may not have heard the name of a

famous personality Washington Irving. But what he
says is really very interesting. He says “The best
Academy is a mother’s knee”. Do you all agree to
it? I do. All my lessons, whether at school, or in the
playground, or even at my hobby center, just all of
them are reinforced, coated with all the morals &
virtues that it makes a holistic sense and teaches
me by my instinct what is correct way of doing
something and what is not. Who makes it possible?
My mother.
Who is this mother? Mine or yours or anybody
else’s, she is but a girl of yesteryears. Now imagine
that this very girl herself was uneducated. Think
that she had never gone to any of the schools,
remained at home, learnt to cook & clean and
that’s it! Would you be where you are today? So
yes I agree completely with Mr. Irving, Mother’s
knee is the best academy. So if you want an
educated generation to follow you think how
important it is to educate the girls.

Why just a mother, a girl child grows up to be an

officer, a lawyer, a minister, a doctor, even an
army officer. There is no limit to the opportunities
she has in store for her if given a chance to prove
herself.

Construction of a strong building depends on its

robust foundation. Likewise a strong nation is built
when all its citizens are well-educated
knowledgeable participants. And if we keep half of
the citizens away from their personal development
we have begun already to falter our plan to move
further as a nation. Whether a girl grows up to be
working full time, part time or becomes a home
maker, she will be able to perform to her fullest
abilities if she has had a sound education.
An educated girl will definitely know the
importance of going to school. She will know how
important it is for each one of the person in and
around her must be exposed to this wonderful
world filled with compassion, creativity, innovation,
science, art, music, dance, and so many more
things that we imbibe in us when we go to a
school. It gets so inter-twined in the fabric of one’s
life that one isbound to benefit. An educated girl
will be able to constructively contribute towards
building of a strong character, not just hers, but all
around her too. She can even go ahead and teach
her mother, if her mother has never gone to a
school. Her younger siblings can benefit from her.
It is in villages that a lot of household still think it
as a taboo to send their girl child out of the house
to study. For them primary education is enough for
their daughter to survive. But in today’s world
where internet and its benefits are out-numbered
and education is on the tips of everyone having an
android phone, education is just a click away.

What are we waiting for then – Educate the Girls,

Build a Strong Nation.
I end my speech with the words of Helen Rice, “A
mother’s heart is a child’s classroom”.

GIRL EDUCATION SPEECH – 3

Good morning to one and all present here today on
this very special day/occasion of —–I, am XYZ,
student of class ___ or House ___________. We the
humans are different from any other species that
we think are as intelligent as us of may even be
swifter or sharper in many ways. But we possess
some things that no other species have. One is
thumb, the structure of it has made it possible for
us to create & invent and hold. The other most
important thing is education.

Having said that importance of education for girls

is undoubtedly an important issue. It is only just to
think of boys & girls as a whole, there is no gender
parity. The girls as well as boys are to be groomed
equally if we talk about national growth and
development. How can we leave one half of its
productive population in the four walled boundary
called home and dream about a futuristic world
that is so full of technology, creativity, beauty and
advancement in every field.

In India we know, most of the people live in

villages. But these villages have changed over a
period of time. The way the people thought around
independence they are not as conservative any
more. A lot of families have sent out their
daughters to other states with better facilities.
There they learn not just school books but also
many more things like theatre, dance, painting,
music, sculpting, science, history, journalism,
medicine and so many more fields relating to
computers etc.

The girls go out and do their best, may it be

education or sports, they excel on the basis of their
hard work and persistence just like any other boy
who is focused towards achieving his goals.
The only thing that stops anyone from achieving is
they themselves. But in the case of girls, besides
their determination they need a lot of support from
the family. They need a family that understands
them and their need to grow just like any other
male counterpart in their family. So a lot of
responsibility lies in the hands of her parents.
According to MacArthur Foundation, “a concern
over school distance/safety is a critical barrier to
sending girls to school especially in rural areas.”

Save the children organization says, “Deep rooted

gender norms prevent households from sending
girls to school – belief that girl’s earnings will only
benefit her marital family discourages parents from
investing in her education.”

“More than 50 per cent of girls fail to enroll in

school; those that do are likely to drop out by the
age of 12.” (According to 7th All India Education
Survey, 2002).

Children are like buds, given correct amount of

water and enough sunshine at the right time, they
develop into healthy blooming flowers. When I say
children I mean both, irrespective of their gender.
We can overcome all the problems if we are able to
change how we perceive our daughters,
importance of educating them and relating its
importance towards our national growth. Making
an environment conducive for their learning, we
can together make the difference.

Educate Girls,
Eradicate Illiteracy

Enlighten the
children, Enliven the Nation
Here’s a 2-minute motivational speech that I was
asked to write.

Success?
It’s not easy.
That’s the first thing you need to know.

There are a million people out there that will tell

you that it’s easy to be successful, that you can be
wealthy beyond your wildest dreams by working
two hours a day, that you can find your dream
partner by swiping left and right on your phone!

That’s bullshit.

You want your dream life? You want the big house?
You want a partner that loves you with their whole
heart? All it takes is a promise:

“I won’t stop”

Five years of toil, five years of pushing yourself,

five years of evolving you, your life, and your mind.
Five years of uncertainty, five years of fear, five
years of society telling you that you *can’t*.

That’s “all” it takes.

The road to success isn’t easy, it isn’t “fun,” and it

isn’t without sacrifice.

But it is simple.

“I won’t stop”

Not till I make my million, not till I’ve conquered

my mountain, not till I lead the life I deserve!

I.

Won’t.

Stop.
Every day you have 24 hours to move one step
closer to your dream. That’s it. That’s all you have
to do. A single step, every day.

People call it transformation.

They’re WRONG.

It’s evolution.

You adapt, you improve, you grow.

When you make that promise to yourself, and keep

that promise to yourself. You won’t notice it at first,
maybe not after the first week, maybe not even
after the first month. But one day, you’ll be sitting
at the top of whatever mountain you’ve decided to
conquer and be grateful that you made a three-
word promise to yourself.

“I won’t stop”
Thank you
The Impact of Social Media on Youth
Rabindranath Tagore opens one of his poems with
these words, “Where the mind is without fear and
head is held high.” But as we look around today,
we find a young generation with their heads bowed
down all the time. From the time of their birth they
grew up with mobile phones and social media.
They knew nothing better.
Now let us think about the impact of social media
on youth.
First of all the impact is that of bad example. As we
look at families today we find each one busy with
social media; not just youngsters. See, youngsters
look up to parents as their role models especially in
the early stages of life. And what do they see. They
find parents on social media all the time. WhatsApp
and Facebook are the stuff they find joy in. And
children are often neglected. No wonder they feel
rejected.
Secondly, there is the impact of wrong priorities.
Youth should learn that what they invest in now will
yield benefits later in life. Now is the time to study
and dream about a great career ahead. If that
valuable time is stolen from them through social
media chats, then they lose sense of priority.
Thirdly, there is the impact of wrong relationships.
God has kept boundaries in life. This is for our
freedom and highest good. The virtual world of
social media with its ease of quick and instant
communication encourages youngsters to cross
boundaries. They chat on topics in private which
they might not dare to talk about in front of others.
This often leads youngsters to fall into relationships
that promise great things. But usually they fall into
traps, into blackmailing and disgrace.
Yet another impact is on health. The amount of
time spent on social media creates health issues
with the spine, neck, fingers, and eyes. Usually
these problems show up only later in life. But then
it is too late. Some youngsters spend hours
chatting and also eat junk food while doing so. This
leads to other health issues like obesity and
diabetes which is a silent killer.
Finally there is the impact on personal safety and
security. Often youngsters post selfies on social
media. They reveal their travel plans and personal
details like birthdays, names of parents and their
work etc. These vital information can lead to
blackmailing and other dangerous situation.
Let me conclude. The impact of social media on
youth can be understood in the context of impact
of bad example, the impact of wrong priorities, the
impact of wrong relationships, the impact on health
and the impact on personal safety.
Youngster should remember that life is not without
accountability. They should remember that the
digital footprints they leave behind on social media
are not just impacting them here a few hours but
they are going to impact them for a life time.

Good morning,
My beloved friend from Informatika class, and our
beloved college tacher, from STMIK Primakara
Before I start the speech, Let us give praise to God
because has given an opportunity for us to meet
on this beautiful day.
As we know, our country, Indonesia, has a diverse
culture. because our diverse cultures, lot of
foreign tourists who are interested with the culture
we have. however, many of our generation now
have been leave the culture that has been passed
on. many of our generation prefers foreign cultures
than Indonesian culture itself, example K-POP and
J-POP, and other foreign culture. Is sad, because
the generation that should be able to build a nation
through culture possessed instead prefer foreign
culture.
Dear friend, as a good generation, we must still
keep the culture that we have from extinction, we
be allowed follow a foreign culture, but should not
be excessive, and not to forget and leave the
culture that we have. we should care about the
culture that we have, we must respect all cultures
we have. because we should be proud to be part of
the next generation of Indonesia.
Finally, I would like to conclude that one point we
should know is that the culture is very important
for a nation, we as the next generation must
continue to keep the culture of this nation from
thieves who tried to claim our culture.
That’s all my speech about the Culture, I hope God
always bless us and this beloved country,
SPEECH ON SUCCESS – 2
Good Morning Dear students,

Today is Teachers Day and I have been called on

this wonderful occasion to share some motivational
thoughts which can lead you to success. Well, if
someone asks me the definition of success, I would
say it’s a lifelong journey only if you are not too
lazy to relax. Everybody in life wants success;
especially students are always enthusiastic to get
the best career option in their lives. But success
has different meanings for different people
depending upon their goals and desires. Some find
success in being a sportsperson, some want to hold
a respectable position in a renowned company,
some are artistic and some wish to start their own
business.

It is believed that success is achieved when hard

work meets opportunity. But opportunities arrive
with time; does that mean, you must sit back and
relax till the time opportunity arrives? Also, what if
some unexpected opportunity arrives and you are
not prepared? So it is always advisable that you
prepare yourself for the expected or unexpected
opportunity. It is important that you keep polishing
your skills so that you don’t lose even a single bit
of the opportunity that may lead you to success in
the long run.

It is also important that you give yourself the credit

of the success that you achieve after putting your
effort and energy. It’s a very critical aspect
because majority of the people give maximum
credit to good luck or fortune; such people are not
fearless, instead they are always worried about
failures or mishaps. Instead of preparing
themselves for bad days, they pray for a continued
success. You must always treat yourself with
kindness and encourage yourself along the journey
of your life. Celebration of every victory whether
small or big will boost your enthusiasm and
encourage you to achieve more in life. I would also
like to point here, some people are emotional and
sensitive to the extent that they stop trying if they
fail. You must understand that success and failure
are the two sides of the same coin. Success is not a
hereditary property of any individual. Even
someone who takes over the ancestral successful
business has to work harder to preserve that
success. Thus, you must not get disheartened or
discouraged even if you fail.

Determination is the principal secret of success.

Your main aim should be to stay happy and
satisfied. Some find happiness in staying healthy
and some find by staying wealthy; but the most
important part is that you should at least know
what you want; only then half the journey is
covered. You must stay focused on your goal and
have the determination to follow your dreams and
happiness; success will soon be your partner in
your life’s journey.

Always remember that the definition of success will

vary from person to person and your feelings are
your own responsibility. So always stay motivated
to do better than the past and the most important
thing is that you should never compare yourself
with others. Do more and achieve more.

Thank You!
SPEECH ON SUCCESS – 3
Dear Colleagues and My Adorable Students!!

You must be feeling surprised at this sudden

announcement of speech delivery ceremony,
especially for our higher secondary students. As
you all will bid goodbye to us after completing your
higher secondary studies, we as the senior faculty
members of the school, considered it important to
hold some interesting and engaging sessions for
our students before the commencement of your
next academic journey.

So the speech topic that has been chosen this time

is on “Success”. Why on Success? Because until
this time, you were living in a very secure and
confined sphere, but now your life will take an
interesting turn. College life will not be the same as
that your school life. The universe will be wider and
competition more fierce. The element of success
will dictate your each and every move. But let us
tell you that the road to success will be full of
thorns and not easy. Success is believed to be as
chilling cold and isolated as the North Pole.

Even then we all want to taste it and in the pursuit

of success, we sacrifice our comfort and ease. I am
sure many of you would be very ardent in the
pursuit of your career objectives, especially after
getting inspired from the success and glory of the
people around. Though we get inspired and start
dreaming of a worthy and honorable post, but
there are only a few lucky ones who get success
and those who do not get to value success become
disheartened.

It’s never wise and advisable to give up on your

ambitions if you face failures, rather use your
failures as the stepping stones to gain success. If
you wouldn’t fail in life, how will you feel what it is
to be successful in life? So prepare yourself for the
worse and leave no stone unturned in realizing
your aims. There will be times of recurrent failures,
but one day success will definitely touch your feet.
We have held this speech ceremony to give you a
window of things that await you in the outside
world and prepare you for any situation that come
your way. My dear students please understand that
life is full of complexities and the road to success is
not easy. There will be many obstacles, but don’t
get bow down to circumstances rather make
circumstances bow down to your will power and
perseverance. If you will work hard, it will surely
pay you sooner and later and never get wasted.
You will just be required to hold on to your sheer
will power whenever you fall.

Only those shall get success in life, who have a no

fear of failures and continue to struggle till the end.
And when you feel that your spirit is going down,
remember that the city of Rome was not created in
just one day. This will give you the inspiration to
bounce back with full energy and vigour.

Neither we nor your parents will be there at every

point in life, so learn to stand on your own feet.
Follow your passion, never afraid to take risks if it’s
worth it and work relentlessly towards your goal for
sooner or later you will surely achieve it.
And, if at any point in your life you feel the need to
come back to your teachers, never feel hesitant to
do so. We will always be there for you. This is all I
can say.

Thank You!

SPEECH ON SUCCESS – 4
Respected Principal, Respected Colleague Teachers
and My Dear Students!

Today is the last day of your school and we have

gathered here to celebrate this occasion as after
this day, you all will get busy with your respective
lives.
I’ve been given this opportunity to host the
program, I felt like sharing my thoughts with you
for your future because I am sure each one of you
wants to be successful in life.

Success comes instantly to some people and some

people struggle a lot to taste success. Generally,
success occurs when hard work meets opportunity;
but it entirely differs from person to person how an
opportunity has been utilized and what fruit is been
reaped from that opportunity.

Success is an achievement of a goal within a

particular time period. Success can either be
achieved in the workplace or in your personal life.
At personal level, if a person accomplishes the
responsibility well and keeps each family member
happy is considered to be successful. Likewise, at
professional level, if someone is trusted by the
leader and able to achieve his/her target within
specified time, then that person is considered
successful.

But to be successful in the real sense, it is highly

important that you are kind and good to yourself
too; you should also take the credit if the success
is the result of your hard work. Self encouragement
throughout the journey of your life is highly crucial
to be successful in the real sense. Celebration of
your success is also important, only then you will
feel that success is worth.

Sometimes, you may get anxious if you fail, but

always remember that success and failure are the
two faces of the same coin and you should always
be patient if you fail at any given point of time and
try harder to be successful next time.

Now-a-days, most of us are busy with our work and

unable to balance our work-life balance which
makes us impatient and disheartened. But simply
having the willpower to pursue your happiness,
goals and your dreams is a huge success in itself.
Success means being true to yourself and how you
select to respond to every incident that occurs in
your life.

You should also remember that success is not a

destination, instead it’s a journey and you should
also enjoy it during your preparation phase along
with the final success. Success is not achieved in
just one day; it is rather achieved through your
individual day to day activities, learning and
experiences.

There are many people who compare their success

to others achievements. If they have a car and
others have a bigger car, they consider it to be
failure. People often forget that each individual in
this world is born with unique capacity and
limitations. Also, it is not good to compare yourself
to others; rather you should compare your past
with the present and set a goal for future ignoring
what others have achieved.

Your Faith and Patience are the biggest tools in

helping you achieve the real success.

All the Best!

Thank You!
Culture comprises of all the good ways of living of
people in a civilization.  Culture consists of the
beliefs, customs, traditions, ethical and moral
values of groups of persons.  People with similar
culture live together in general.  People of a region
have a culture that evolves over many decades.

Culture also means various performing arts

like dance, instrumental music, singing, painting,
drama, creating writing, craft making, debating,
elocution and many more.  These are often
characteristic of a civilization.

Continuing on :

Culture of a person means the way a person

speaks, behaves, responds to various incidents and
the conduct of the person including his manners.
Culture has a very important impact on the growth
of a person or a society.  When there is no culture,
people in the society do not have a common
understanding of what is good and what is not
good.
Our culture tells us what practices, if we follow,
will enable us to live better in our region.
Nowadays, the fast growing India has adopted
several cultures and has forgotten many of its
traditions and cultures.  The olden traditions and
value systems are being forgotten and new values
systems are coming in from all parts of the world.
This may be good for some Indians. But respecting
one's own culture and upholding is be our
responsibility.

The culture is changing from village and small

town living style to city and apartment in micro
families, shopping malls, pubs, cinemas,
entertainment etc.

conclusion :

Often we try to praise western culture and insult

our own.  Our culture gives us a great identity.  Be
proud of it. Protect it and uphold it.
Ladies and gentlemen, the honorable juries, and
my beloved friends.

First, lets say thanks to God, who has given

blessing to us, so we can meet together in this
place. Let me introduce myself. My name is Laras
Puji Astuti from SMA Negeri 1 Seputih Raman. Now,
I would like to give my speech under the tittle of
Save Our Culture.

So, I will explain about the meaning of culture. Do

you know the meaning of culture? Culture means
life method which grow up on the society area
which heir by generations to generations. We all
know, we have a thousand legacy of culture which
has a high precious of art and an ancestral
masterpiece such as music, language, traditional
dance, and cuisine. Along with the development of
time, a passion for preserving culture is fading.
Why? because of the advancement of science and
technology, the impact of globalization, lack of
awareness, there is no love for own nation.

Now that many teenagers are affected by

globalization. For example, the teenagers when
getting out of bed just looking for handphone for
look notification from twitter, facebook and it’s true
right? Now, Indonesian teenagers love modern
music and they forgot Indonesian traditional music,
one by one and step by step. And, Cant you see
that? Foreign culture almost changes all about
Indonesians life style too, from 3F, Food Fun and
Fashion.

Food, many kinds of food outside, a little get rid of

the native foods area with modern food like
spaghetti, and burgers. Also follow the trend of the
clothes. It is like wore tight clothes, hotpants and
semi-finished clothes. It is very very not worth for
our nation that upholds modesty. It is ironic, really.
But it is a fact, you know. All of us as the next
generation of this nation, looks like not care at all.
But why it happened? So, as the young generation,
we must play role and take a part to perpetuate it.
In this globalization era, west culture is easy to
enter Indonesia, even grow and keep growing very
fast. It looks like we feel more confident if we try to
imitate the west culture. Another case is our
culture confession by Malaysia. They claimed our
culture as their for example like reog ponorogo,
pendet dance, batik, rasa sayange song, and many
more. This is is can be a motivation to us as young
generation to more care about Indonesias culture.
We cant just blame them who had stole our
culture.

We must save our culture. Where do we have to

start? Of course we should start from our own
selves. If its not us who love our own cultures then
who else would? We must feel proud in showing
our self-esteems through our cultures. Start from
our selves, our families, and our surroundings.

Culture cant be produce as that easy, moreover in

hurry. There are many efforts to perpetuate
Indonesias culture, but that efforts arent maximum
yet. Besides creativity, promotion factor has a big
role too. Promote it into international level with an
interesting and unique ideas. So, Indonesias
culture has an international confession and difficult
to duplicated. Dont ever bored to make a creativity
and save Indonesias cultures..

I wish my words can open up our eyes and rise our

spirits on to begin loving own cultures. I am proud
of my ancestors heritages. I love my mother lands
heritages. I love Indonesia. Please forgive me for
any mistake on my words.
