Show YouTube clip of dot-painting around hand as a
model,
‘Make your own example for students to see as well
Students individually place their hands on the page for
teachers to trace around. Staff to model dot painting
‘around the hand, students to continue.
LEZ
Students to read the book ‘How the Kangaroos got their
Tails’ as a group. Students to use their dot painting skills
on a kangaroo.

Read ‘How the Birds got their Colours’ as a group.
‘Students then go through the story again as a class and
‘match the events of the story in order.
‘Students to pair up in classes and paint one event from
the story together.
Lea
Students to use their understanding of dot painting to
choose an animal and dot paint in various colours. To be
presented on A4 black paper.
