1. INTRODUCTION
This work procedure is prepared for New EDC Storage tank for Thai plastic
Chemicals Public Cc.,Ltd. At Mataput,Rayong.

2. WORK HOUR
Work will be carried out in day as well as night time. Normally, every day working
time will be limited between 08.00 A.M.- 05.00P.M and over time started at 06.00 P.M –
11.00 P.M. excluded National holiday.

3. METHOD AND PROCEDURE FOR EXCAVATION FOR THE WORK


3.1) GENERAL
3.1.1 This procedure is applied to the civil work items for New EDC Storage Tank.
3.1.2 This procedure details the functions the inspection requirements and
acceptance criteria to be applied during the construction for New EDC
Storage Tank

3.2) SCOPE
This procedure details the functions of production during the construction of civil
work items at site.

3.3) MATERIALS
Structural materials shall conform to the standards, or be recognized approved
equivalents from Designer.
Submitted for approval of material follow: to Sub-vendor list
The specification or engineering drawing are required before work activities

3.4) PREPARATION
3.4.1 All the materials delivered to the construction sits shall be subject to receiving
inspection by the material Controller who confirm that the materials are the
correct type, grade and size as shown on the material certificates. The UEC’s
QC Inspector will at this time carry out visual inspection of the materials for
manufacturing defects and transportation damage.

3.4.2 Survey will be performed before. Benchmark control, reference control point
will be distributed cover the working area.
3.4.3 Access to working area to maintenance for transportation into working area.
3.4.4 All materials delivered to the construction site shall be stored in adequate
stocking area.

3.5) EXCAVATION/PIT.
3.5.1 Location and dimensions of excavation will be checked and located at the
working area by white line.
3.5.2 Hand excavated or Machine excavated will be performed as agree in
excavation point.
3.5.3 Survey instrument will be used for control elevation of excavation.
3.5.4 After excavated soil, condition in each area to be checked.
3.5.5 Side slope or shoring protection is required up to depth of excavation and soil
condition.
3.5.6 Dewatering plan is required for excavation up underground water level.
Excavation shall be carried out in the following manner:
Timber shutters may be required for sharing the vertical faces of the
excavation.
(a) Over 1.5 to 3.6 meters, approved strong timber shutters must be used.
(b) Exceeding 3.6 meters, steel sheet piles to be used.
(c) Temporary fencing and/or barricades to be erected to protect any person
including third parties, from falling tripping into excavation pits.
(d) Hoarding signs should be visibly displayed around all excavation pit
areas.
(e) Preventive measures shall be taken that no excavated soil is caused to
flow into any public drainage system. Excavation and excavated soil shall
not be left open left in neighboring land unless permission is officially
granted by the UEC.

3.6) PILE HEAD CUTTING WORK


3.6.1 Location and elevation will be checked and located at benchmark control
before marking pile cutting point.

3.6.2 Survey instrument will be used for control elevation of pile cutting.
3.6.3 Pile cutting will be performed as agree in cutting point.
3.6.4 Cutting machine will be used for cutting around the marking line in depth
30-40 mm. And then will used the hammer for demolish pile head for the
above of marking line
3.6.5 If not necessary to remain for the reinforce wire, it will be cut off.
3.6.6 After demolishing of pile head, the surface of cutting area will be made to
be smooth by hand tools.

3.7) CONCRETE FORMS

3.7.1 Materials to be used for form work shall be plywood or steel sheet with
timber 1.5”*3” for bracing and support.
3.7.2 The structure frame scaffolding will be used for supporting above ground
form work..
3.7.3 All equipment and materials used in concrete construction and masonry
work shall meet applicable requirements as prescribed in Thai Labor Law,
ANSI A10.9 – 1983 “Safety Requirements for Concrete Construction and
Masonry Work”, Provincial regulations.
3.7.4 UEC’s Civil Engineer shall prepared for designing and calculation for
concrete form to assure the stability and correct size of concrete structure as
drawing.
3.7.5 Concrete form must be cleaned before pouring concrete.
3.7.6 All components, parts attachments shall be inspected by UEC’s inspector to
ensure that they have been assembled correctly and conform with the
dimensional requirements of the drawings.
3.7.7 Survey references:
Construction elevation and location will be based on Owner’s permanent
bench mark.

3.8) REINFORCING STEEL


3.8.1 After receive construction drawing. Bar bending schedule to be made for
control loss of material.
3.8.2 Bar bending schedule to be verified by field engineer prior to send bar
bending shop.
3.8.3 Rebar will be cut and bent as per bar bending schedule by bending and
cutting machine and transport to working area.
3.8.4 Structural steel materials shall conform to the TIS Standard, or be recognize
approved equivalents.
3.8.5 All the reinforcing steel materials delivered to the construction site shall be
subject to receiving inspection by the UEC’s material controller who will
confirm that the materials are the correct type, grade and size as shown on
the material certificates.

The UEC's QC Inspector will at time carry out visual inspection of the steel
materials for manufacturing defects and transportation damage.
3.8.6 Reinforcing steel materials delivered to the fabrication shop shall not be
stored in direct contact with the ground and proper cover to protect rain
3.8.7 Reinforcing steel shall cut by cutting machine.
3.8.8 Oil and grease will be removed before pouring concrete.
3.8.9 Spacing of reinforcing steel and form shall be conformed to the drawing
specification.
3.8.10 All dimensional steel structure shall be conform to the drawing.

3.9) CONCRETE WORK.


3.9.1 After rebar and formwork and embed item were installed. Manpower, tool
and equipment shall be prepared by field engineer.
3.9.2 Concrete supplier, local concrete ready mixed supplier will be used as mix
design that already approved.
3.9.3 When concrete truck come, visual inspection to be checked, temperature,
slump test to be checked and recorded, concrete cube sample to be made.
All these activities to be performed by QC inspector.
3.9.4 Before concrete pouring, concrete form, reinforcing steel, location and
elevation shall be checked by UEC’s inspector.
3.9.5 Concrete forms and reinforcing steel must be cleaned before concrete
pouring.
3.9.6 During concrete pouring, concrete form shall be free from any foreign
matter
3.9.7 After concrete form removed, curing water will be performed 24 hrs. in each
case.
3.9.8 Strip formwork to be performed as the time as following:
- Side formwork for RC beam and slab 24 hrs.
- Side formwork for column and wall 48 hrs.
- Bottom formwork for RC slab and beam 14 days.
For detail stripping with temporary support to be consider in each case.
