statement of the problem

and solution
Some of the available components in the 3D Warehouse (even though they are free therefore I
cannot complain) are poorly modeled. Their axes are not right, the scale is not right, etc.
SketchUp is very efficient tool to visualize every project in 3 dimension for a better understanding
on the "Scopes of Work" but because the modeller takes a longer time in correcting every component
before placing it inside the model the task becomes time consuming and therefore insufficient.
My goal here is to give you an idea on how to correctly use the components and give you some
hindsight on how it should be modelled if you are aiming to make it reusable for other people.

notes from the author

Well I am still a student Y^Y... so I dont know whether this shares can help you or not but they
seem to be useful for document drawings. I am still working on the more accurate and precise
ones so we can all use it for ESTIMATION Purposes... but anyways I'm a busy
person(Midterms, Finals, DOTA, Etc.) . If you have the patience you can wait but if you don't
you can create it yourself. I have some Manuals that you can use. I can share it to you but in
one condition- YOU MUST ALSO SHARE YOUR FINAL OUTPUTS.
HOW TO SAVE THE COMPONENTS
1. Locate the file.

2. Extract the file.

3. Open the file using any version of SketchUp you have.

(Note: I made sure to downgrade the files to the

earliest version possible. As for me its version 3 and
oh yeah your welcome XDDD...)
4. After Opening the file Click the icon in the components tray.

5. A Pop-Up menu will appear from there select "In Model".

5. Then the Components inside the model will appear.

6. Click the icon.

7. A pop-up menu will appear and from there select "Save a a local
collection".
8. Save it in any location or create your own.

TO CREATE YOUR OWN

a. create a "New Folder".

a. Rename it then click

(Note: After doing this process you MUST put

all the components inside this folders:

For Sketchup 8 and earlier:

C:\Program Files\Google\Google Sketchup
8\Components\*Plumbing

For Sketchup 2013-16:

C:\Program Files\SketchUp\SketchUp
2016\Components\*Plumbing

* - user-defined folder
HOW TO use THE COMPONENTS
1. Using the create a path for your plumbing layout.

2. From the components tray choose a pvc component

3. Place it inside the model.

4. In the Layers tray turn off the visibility of "PVC 3D" by unchecking
the visibility box.

5. Rotate the component to match the orientation of your desired

path.

For those wo are wondering what

is that rotate tool I am using
XDD..well it's WIKII Combi Editor
which you can download for free
from the sketchucation plugins
store.

Other notable plugins:

Matt Toggle Units
Dezmo_Pompi Pipe Plugin
CenterPoint All
1001bit freeware

6. place the component on the path you created.

7. Scale the component upto desired length.

Note: Please scale only the pipe

and not the fittings. Sorry for I
have no time to remove the scaling
box for the fittings for I don't see
the necessity to do so.

7. Place some fittings

8. When you are done turn on the visibility of the "PVC 3D"
