Step 2:

You are now going to create a piece of artwork using “Jail safe materials” so no scissors, glue,
paint, paintbrushes or pencils. (You can use a regular pen as a “jail safe” pen.) This piece of artwork
needs to be about something positive/uplifting/fun in your life and be creative. You can either make
a sculpture or a 2D piece, it is entirely up to you. Once finished with your artwork, take a photo and
paste it onto a google doc.

Step 3:
On the google doc with the picture of your artwork, I want you to write an artist statement talking
about your piece. (6-8 sentences)
1. What specific materials did you use?
2. What challenges arose?
3. What is something successful about your work?
4. What was something positive that you were trying to represent?
5. Why should artist experiment?
6. By creating something positive, do you think it enhanced your mood?
