Hire wrong person for the job:

Restaurant’s success and its running depends on the people who are running it.
There are shortcomings of rushing and making assumptions about new
recruitment candidate. Managers must have to hire the right people for the job.
This is because only the manager explains the company’s rules and regulations to
all staff members and to provide the training necessary. Moreover, employee
work under his control.

Experience high turnover:


The pizza shops employee turnover rate or leaving job rate was high. Angelo was
losing two - three employees per month, his existing employees had to work for a
long hour shift, and some of his managers have to handle three jobs himself. This
entire situation created a huge and hectic pressure on good employees and as a
result turnover rate increased.

Employee performance:
Once Angelo fired an employee who used curse sometimes and one time, he did
that in front of a customer. Based on that event, he fired that employee. This
indicates falls in logical error because Angelo drew an unwanted conclusion from
the facts. Which is a very isolated weakness and it would be improved by
providing personality training.

Waste time in Recruitment Process:


To run a proper recruitment session the management of the shop has to consider
the expenses of advertising, interviewing time, interrupted customer service,
training and severance pay. Each step of the hiring process will cost a lot of time
and money. They could use those money and time to improve their business.
Moreover, he also cancelled out interviews with people who did not have good
telephone manners just based on assumptions that they will not have good
manners in store too. By this, he can lose good recruits. Therefore, Angelo need
to put up a little research and planning in order to make the recruitment process
successful.

Lack of training and Induction:


The training process of Angelo’s pizza was very poor and this is the last error from
the case. Angelo just trained his employees how to run a store. Only this does not
make an employee to know about his/her duties and accountabilities. Only
working with the owner makes an employee aware of everything regarding the
business, this was Angelo’s thought. However, this is incorrect idea. Angelo
should develop and update his training process.
