Dear Managers,

I trust you are well.

We have started the roll out of CLHIV package with the escorted referral service.

Attached is the guide for provision of this service which you are to share with responsible staff
for service provision and follow up. Please note that with escorted referral for CLHIV we have
additional criteria which were not included in the general escorted referrals. These are:

1. Extremely urgent referrals: specifically, cases of abuse, including sexual abuse

2. Urgent referrals: severely malnourished children and HIV positive children not on ART
3. Child who does not have a caregiver to accompany her/him (caregiver is too old, or too
sick, or not available).
4. CLHIV with poor adherence to attend EAC sessions
5. CLHIV who have missed their clinic appointments or are LTFU
6. All emergencies and critical medical care needs for CLHIV
7. CLHIV who are age 8+ years old, have not yet been disclosed their HIV status, and have
been identified to have high viral load escort to facility for disclosure support
8. For children 0-17 (OVC/CYLWS) escorted referrals will be provided as necessary for HTS
and care and treatment services

It is important to note that in your costed work plans, there is budget for general escorted
referrals which cover all OVCs and escorted referrals for CLHIV which is specific to CLHIV only.

Some of these needs will be identified through working with CTC where our beneficiaries are
receiving care and data reported through HRAQM which is being shared weekly.

If there are any questions or concerns please let me know.
