Overview
 Cash journal is a sub-ledger of Bank accounting
 Manage company’s Cash Transactions i.e. all cash receipts and payments.
 One company can have multiple cash journals.
 Automatically calculates the balances.
 An online cash book in SAP system where users can check opening and closing balances
for the cash of the company for a particular day and period.
 Cash Journal is more like Petty Cash Transactions.

Configuration
 Create GL account for Cash Journal (FS00)
o Cash account is Balance Sheet
o Falls to Asset
o Posting without Tax allowed
o Should be post automatically only – because we all are looking forward that
transactions are for cash journal only. It will always be routed to cash journal
automatically and will not be possible for manual transactions.
o Not a reconciliation account.

 Define document types.


 Define Number Range for cash journal documents

 Set up Cash Journal/Petty Cash

 Maintain Business transactions

Note: Business transaction “C” & B Cash from Bank and Cash to Bank GL account can be
blank.
 Set up print parameters for cash journal

UNIT Testing

3 types of cash journal

1.1 Cash/Check Receipt: Should have a cash receipts in order to have value and post it.

1.2 Cash Payment: Pre requisite that the cash journal has value in which case we posted
100,000 as closing balance from 1.1. thus, we can pay vendor in cash.
Posted, and closing balance is 95,000

Reversal Scenario. Reverse Cash Journals through FB08 is not possible but you can
reverse the entry by deleting the row and will request you for reversal reason.
Click Delete Row Icon

Reversal Successful. (Print Cash Journals)
