Experiment (1): Error Measurement, Resistance and Ohms Law

Objectives of this Experiment:

 To be familiar with resistance color codes.
 To verify the Ohms Law.
 To use the Linear Regression to demonstrate the linear relationship between voltage and current.

Linear Regression (Voltage vs. current):

Тhе voltage across а resistor can bе represented bу the formula V=IR, which is graphically represented bу straight line.

Lab Experiment and Report:

PART 1:
Take some resistors and find their values using both color codes and the Multimeter and fill the values in table (1) for the
following:

 By Color Code:
o Band.
o Value in Ohms.
o Tolerance.
o Maximum and minimum values.
 By Multimeter:
o Value in Ohms.

PART 2:
 Connect the circuit as shown in the following figure.
 Vary the input DC voltage in steps in order to make the
current passing through the circuit ranging from 1V to
10V.
 Record the current and the voltage across the resistor in
each step in table (2).
 From your data, draw the relationship between the current
and the voltage. Is it а straight line?
 From your drawing find the slope to find the Resistance
and recorded in the table (3).
 Measure the Resistor value and recorded in the table (3).
 Read the color code of the Resistor and recorded its value
in the table (3)
