08/03-Current Graduate Information Program (G.I.P) Coordinator, Educational Opportunity Programs
(EOP); University of California, Santa Cruz
Develops and organizes graduate and professional school workshops throughout the
academic year. Responsible for assessing student needs as it pertains to pre-graduate
advising. Provides individual and group meetings to provide information about graduate
and professional school preparation. Hires and supervises 6 student staff. Collects data on
student utilization of services, write evaluation reports for use in annual report. Serves as a
liaison with the Resource Centers to promote awareness about GIP serves and ultimately
EOP services. Assists in the development, implementation and coordination of special
projects.
Assisted EOP Coordinator of Academic Support Services and Programs with two-quarter
Faculty Mentor Program (FMP), and organized weekend retreat for program participants.
Logistics committee member for the annual Diversity in Graduate Education Forum (over
1000 student participants). Organized logistics for Services to Students of Color Welcome
Program (2-day Orientation yielding 300 students and 80 Faculty and Staff). Produced
and created flyers for outreach efforts.
