EASTER

BY: IVÁN RAMOS

WHY IS IT CELEBRATED?

• Easter is celebrated by commemorating the

resurrection of Christ on his third day of death,
according to the Catholic religion Jesus Christ died on
Good Friday, crucified by the Jews and resurrected on
Sunday of this week.
• According to the Holy Scriptures, with Easter, God
gives Christians the hope of the resurrection and of a
new way of life, represented in the return of Christ
from the dead.
WHAT IS DONE BEFORE IT
STARTS?

• Christians to prepare for this take a

period of forty days which they call
Lent.
• This time it is exciting for the forty
days that Jesus was fasting.
AS IT IS CELEBRATED?
• According to Christians, this is a day
of rejoicing, of rest, where everyone
is reflecting and contemplating the
resurrection, a day of celebration in
which fasting and sadness disappear.
• So why do we see that in countries
like the United States, eggs are
hidden?
• Why is a rabbit the symbol of this
day?
• In countries with a Christian tradition, the feast of Easter is one of
the great milestones of the year, and coincides with the school
holidays. However, we must not forget that there are large parts of
the world where it simply does not exist or there are completely
different calendars and customs. Without going any further, in some
Asian countries, such as Japan, Easter is not celebrated. In others,
HOW DO OTHER like Laos, they coincide with New Year's Day; in Myanmar the Water
Festival takes place, and in North Korea it is a holiday for Kim Jong II
CULTURES day.
