1. History

Booking.com was formed when bookings.nl, founded in 1996 by Geert-Jan Bruinsma,

merged in 2000 with Bookings Online, founded by Sicco and Alec Behrens, Marijn

Muyser and Bas Lemmens, which operated as Bookings.org. The name and URL were

changed to Booking.com and Stef Noorden was designated as its CEO. In 1997,

Bruinsma wanted to publish an advertisement in De Telegraaf, the Dutch newspaper

Booking.com is a website that started operating in Enschede (Netherlands) in 1996.

Booking.com is a subsidiary of The Priceline Group which operates with its brand

Booking.com, world leader in online accommodation reservations. Every day more than

1,200,000 nights are booked through Booking.com. The website and the Booking.com

applications receive visitors in search of leisure and business stays internationally.

In July 2005, the company was acquired by Booking Holdings (or Priceline Group, as it

was named at the time) for USD133 million, and then collaborated with

ActiveHotels.com, a European online hotel reservation company, purchased by Booking

Darren Huston was appointed Executive Director of Booking.com in September 2011

by his parent company, and also served as President and CEO of Booking Holdings

from January 1, 2014 until his resignation on April 28, 2016 after a labor relationship

revealed. Huston was the former executive of Microsoft Corporation, the world's largest

software company in 2003. Later, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer,

Microsoft Japan since 2005 and Corporate, Consumer and Online Vice President of

Microsoft Corporation since 2008. Gillian Tans She is currently the executive director

completely free and the search and reservation service too. Also has a highly reliable

should include, low cost Airlines options for short trips. Booking offers a high-quality

service with experience in the market and its market is constantly growing.

It provides comfort and agility for all its users; it is ideal for travelers because you can

book absolutely all the necessary services for a trip.

Its interface has improved a lot and is quite fast, it is a very useful application and even

has a strong competition with other similar apps, this one is very positioned in the

market.
