GPS+GSM BASED REAL TIME BUSTRAIN LOCATION FINDER AND DISPLAY ON

EARTH'S MAP

AIM:

The main aim of this project is to design “Location Tracking System for Bus/Trains and
displaying location on Map.”

COMPONENTS: Micro controller, GSM, GPS, GPRS.

EXISTING METHOD:

In the existing methods for tracking the locations of a vehicle will provide the location
based on RF-ID tag located in different locations and with reader on vehicle to read the tags
wherever from the vehicle is passing by. Then it will send the location of the vehicle via a
sms. But a drawback of this system is, it will only provide a particular zone name. In that
zone where the vehicle is not be accurate.

PROPOSED METHOD:

Proposed system will consists of GPS, GSM, and GPRS modules interfaced with the
microcontroller. First we needs to send message with Track commend to the GSM modem
in Bus/Train section. After receiving the commands it will reply back with location of Bus
and Trains. With the help of GPS (Global positioning system) the current location of the
BUS/Trains can be tracked and will be sent via GSM modem to control room’s mobile
number. At the same time MC will commands GPRS (Global Packet Radio service) to upload
the locations in terms of latitudes and longitude on a web page, where the location will be
displayed on a map.
