NANTU AND TUN SUBJECT: AMENDMENT TO THE 2020 SCHOOL CALENDAR FOR TEACHERS On Friday, 06" March 2020, the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture issued a letter regarding the amendment of the 2020 School Calendar. However, the said letter was silent with regards to teachers. This letter therefore serves to clarify the amendment to the 2020 School Calendar for teachers. The amendment for teachers is as follow: 1. Please take note that 14", 15", and 16" April 2020 are official working days allocated for marking and other administrative work. Thus, for the first term, 16 April 2020 will be the last working days for teachers and non-teaching staff. 2. Similarly, the 7" and 8" May 2020 as well as 27" and 28! August 2020 are allocated for teachers" preparation to start for Term 2 and Term 3 respectively. it should be understood that the amendment to the 2020 School Calendar by the Honorable Acting Minister of Education, Arts and Culture is as per Section 37 (2) of the Education Act, 2001 (Act No. 16 of 2001). Directors of Education, Arts and Culture are hereby requested to ensure that these changes to the school calendar are communicated to all School Prineipals, School Boards and teachers and implemented as such, Sincerely, All official correspondence must be addressed to the Executive Director.
