Course Description
The course introduces the students to the factors affecting the behavior of individuals and groups in organization focusing on the specific factors that tend to explain
behavior of individuals, groups, and organizations. Various theories and models of organizational behavior work group behavior, motivation in life and work, and human
relations among others are discussed and related to organizational practices and phenomena.
Course Objectives
At the end of the term, the students should be able to:
1. Describe the role and functions of human resource management in contributing to the goals of an organization;
2. Analyze and interpret the strategic objectives of an organization and develop strategic human resource recommendations that facilitate the attainment of those objectives.
3. Meet human resource requirements efficiently and effectively by recruiting, selecting,
4. orienting employees in accordance with legal and ethical standards;
5. Establish, monitor and use an employee development system n orientation, training. Performance appraisal, counseling and career development.
6. Develop compensation policies to improve employee motivation, performance and job satisfaction.
7. Establish, monitor and use an effective employer-employee relationship system;
8. Analyze and interpret union-management issues and negotiate effective settlements to disputes.
