VIEWPOINT

Andres Bonifacio is the husband of Gregoria de Jesus. He is a member of the Kataastaasang

Kagalanggalang Katipunan (K.K.K.) of the Anak ng Bayan (A.N.B) and often works with Emilio
Jacinto in formulating the association’s documents like the Kartila and works in different
balangays. He was one of the leaders in the association. The association’s meetings and other
activities are held in his house having his wife to be the safekeeper of the seal, weapons and
other documents of K.K.K.

TIME CONTEXT
This happened after they stayed one week in Mr. Javier’s house then decided to live on their
own. The papers were in custody of Gregoria de Jesus since Emilio, the one in charge of the
printing, was staying in the same roof with them.

I. PROBLEM STATEMENT
Why are the files of K.K.K not segregated and under the custody of Gregoria de Jesus?

II. STATEMENT OF THE OBJECTIVE

Specific - To be able to formulate an alternative plan that would protect Gregoria de Jesus and
the documents, seal and weapons in her custody.
Measurable - To be able to identify needed additional resources and manpower to carry out the
alternative courses of action.
Attainable - To allocate and distribute responsibilities to other members of K.K.K. once the
plan has been fully decided.
Realistic - To evaluate the benefits, risks and consequences of the proposed alternative courses
of action then decide which is the best alternative course of action to execute.
Time-bound - To implement the chosen plan of action within 2 months and 2 weeks.
III. ASSUMPTIONS
- Gregoria de Jesus was appointed as the custodian of the seal because she was then initiated
as the “Lakambini” the night she had her second wedding with Andres Bonifacio.
- She was appointed because she was the wife of Andres Bonifacio, the leader of K.K.K. As
a husband, he would give his full trust to his wife without breaking it no matter what
happened.

IV. ALTERNATIVE COURSES OF ACTION

1. The K.K.K. would disclose a misleading identity instead of disclosing Gregoria de Jesus as
their Lakambini.
This solution aims to protect the identity of Gregoria de Jesus, it is already skeptic that she
is the wife of Andres Bonifacio. That is why protecting her identity will also protect her
and their family.

2. The KKK could have segregated their files and their belongings to their men and placed
them in different areas and not just in Gregoria de Jesus’ custody.
This solution aims to protect the files, the equipment of the KKK, and also Gregoria de
Jesus. The Spaniards will have a hard time finding those files and the equipment of the
KKK.
3. Gregoria de Jesus could have stayed in a place where no one knows her, completely
unconnected to any of the katipuneros and unaccompanied by her mother and sister-in-law.
This solution aims to protect and completely hide Gregoria de Jesus’ identity from anyone
who could possibly hunt her down.

 CONCLUSION
The best solution in order to protect the K.K.K. as well as Gregoria de Jesus is
segregating the files throughout the trusted katipuneros. It is the application of the saying
“don’t put your eggs in the same basket.” The segregation of files will lead to misleading
information and the Spaniard will have a hard time locating the other papers. At the same
time they will not only focus on Gabriela de Jesus and this will contribute to her safety
as well.
