 Introduction
• The aluminium doors and window frames are made from extruded
aluminium sections.
• The channels and box sections have flanges and grooves for double
glazing and weather-stripping.
• The glazed doors are commonly advertised as ‘patio doors’.
• Aluminium is a conductive material
• Heat transmission can be reduced by
separating the ALU profile in 2 parts using
an insulating material to reduce the
thermal transmission.
• Conductivity of Aluminium: 160 W/mK
