This project involved designing a network topology in Cisco Packet Tracer to learn concepts like Telnet and EIGRP routing protocols. The topology included networks in Wellington, Japan, Christchurch, Auckland, and a server farm. Wellington had 4 PCs, 2 servers, and a printer split between VLANs 10 and 20. EIGRP was used between Wellington, Japan, and Auckland, and a static route connected the server farm to Wellington. The project helped students explore networking functions and concepts in a real-world simulated environment.

This project is done as a semester project as a part
of course titled “Data Communications and Computer Networks”. We are immensely thankful to our Teachers “Wajeeh ul Hassan” and “Shahzad Haroon” for their invaluable guidance and assistance, without which the accomplishment of this task wouldn’t have been possible. We also thank them for giving us the opportunity to explore in the real world of Networking and its use in real life. In this project we had to design a given topology and implement different Networking functions. SYSTEM OVERVIEW The topology is designed on a software named “Cisco Packet Tracer”. It is divided into following countries: Wellington, Christ Church, Auckland, Japan, Server Farm. We can easily from One PC to another. By making this topology we learned the concepts of Telnet, EIGRP in detail. Telnet is a protocol that allows you to connect to remote computers (called hosts) over a TCP/IP network (such as the Internet). Using telnet client software on your computer, you can make a connection to a telnet server (i.e., the remote host). And it is used in the Topology we have designed. Topology COUNTRIES 1. Wellington In Wellington there are 4 PC’s, 1 Printer and 2 Servers. The PC’s and Printer are in VLan 10, Servers are in VLan 20. Switch:
Router:
We have used Static Route between Wellington
and server farm and EIGRP between wellington and japan and between Wellington and Auckland. 2. Japan In Japan we have 6 PC’s, 1 Printer and 1 Server. PC’s and printer are in Vlan10 and Servers in Vlan20. Switch:
Router:
We have used EIGRP between japan and wellington
and japan and Christchurch. 3. ChristChurch In ChristChurch we have 7 PC’s and 1 Printer. They are all in the same VLan. Switch:
Router: We have used EIGRP between Christchurch to japan and Christchurch to Auckland. 4. Auckland
In Auckland we have 4 pcs, 1 printer and 2 Servers
and they all are in same VLan. Switch: Router:
We have used EIGRP between Auckland to
Christchurch and Auckland to wellington. 5. Server Farm:
