Office of Field Operations

CBP Applicant Contact Center
Washington, DC 20229
United States

Dear CBP Recruiter,

I learned about this opportunity through my father, an Officer at the Tornillo, Texas port of entry.
This position interests me because I am looking for an opportunity to become a part of the
Department of Homeland Security. My aspiration is to be a part of the agency that protects the
borders and entry ports of the United States, keeping our country safe from terrorists while
preventing the trafficking of people and illegal substances.

I would be a good candidate for this position as my career objective is to work to keep this
country safe. I have commenced my personal training by going through the CBP study guide and
beginning a physical fitness regime. I am motivated to do my best to be at top physical and
mental capacity as is needed for this job and the circumstances it can entail.

Currently, my education consists of the history of how the Criminal Justice system in our country
was formed and how the different aspects of the law enforcement are brought by policy and
applied to crime. The most interesting part of my education currently is my understanding of how
international security came to be in the US beginning in the thirteen colonies and the
development since. I am bilingual, proficiently communicating in English and Spanish as well as
beginning to learn the basics of American Sign Language, French, and Irish as included in my
resume. I hope to be a well fit candidate for this position.

Thank you for taking the time to review my resume. I look forward to hearing from you, if you
would like to discuss anything further my mobile number is 915-259-5201 or email me at
srios9@miners.utep.edu. Thank you for your consideration,

Sincerely,

Stephany Rios
