Dear Mr. and Mrs. Brady:

Tiny Tots Daycare is known to care for children as if they were our own and making their safety
and well-being our number one priority. Our facility works hard to develop a safe and caring
environment for the children in attendance. Our employees have demonstrated their patience and
gratitude to all the children. It is our commitment to reassure all parents their children are safe
while in our care.

In previous conversations we have expressed our concern with Brett’s behavior. He has
continued to bite other children causing one child significant harm and acting out with our staff.
We have tried different methods to help with his behavior and it has been unsuccessful. Other
parents are expressing their concern of their children’s well-being, which puts our center in a
complex position.

With that being said, Tiny Tots has come to a decision to no longer allow Brett into our facility.
Brett is a bright little boy, but his behavior is causing other parent’s to be concern of their
children attending. This decision was hard to make but as I have mentioned our daycare’s top
priority is the safety and well-being of all children. We understand you are concern with his
behavior as well. If we can help in any way feel free to ask, Tiny Tots may provide some phone
numbers of resources to help. Here are a couple of daycare centers you may contact for
enrollment, Sunshine Daycare, (915) 123-4567, Teddy Bear Daycare, (915) 567-9867.

Tiny Tots appreciates your understanding to our decision.

Sincerely,
Valerie Flores

Reflection-Negative Correspondence
In this negative correspondence letter, I had to write a letter to a parent whose child who was
being declined from continuing attending the daycare facility. This child was being aggressive to
other children in the daycare. Writing this letter taught me how to turn down a customer but to
also be helpful in the situation because the business does not want to have a bad reputation of
any sort. Business’s run with good reputation for their name. So, they do not want to jeopardize
it with being rude and unresourceful. As a current employee at a daycare facility, the directors
have run into these types of situations. Personally, I have not yet had to write one to a parent but
seeing how important it is to keep your business with a good reputation. Writing these types of
letters helps in the future because business’s do run into situations and being able to let down in a
negative but helpful way will be good for the business.
