Engineering Ethics & Computer Laws

Course Description

The course includes moral issues and decisions confronting individuals


and organizations involved in engineering. This subject will focus on
the study of the code of ethics, conflict of interests, safety and risk
trade-offs in design, confidentiality, behaviour in the workplace,
intellectual property, patents, trade secrets and contemporary issues
in engineering.

Course Objectives

After completing this course, the student must be able to:

1. Understand the fundamentals of professionalism and ethics with


the focus on the fields of engineering.
2. Study the codes of ethics, conflict of interest, safety and risk
trade-offs in design, confidentiality, behaviour in the workplace,
intellectual property, patents, trade secrets and contemporary
issues in engineering.
