Here is a list of digital tools and resources available through Hwb:

On the Hwb platform, our pupils have access to the J2E

tools(e.g to create digital art, make animations, data
handling e.t.c) , Google for Education and Office 365
(Word, Powerpoint, Excel e.t.c.) You can also download
Office 365 to your computer / laptop for free.
Click on the picture on the left hand side to see how to do
this.
The Encylcopedia Britannica is also available to pupils
through Hwb. You can research specific topics or search for
pictures using ‘Image Quest’ or ‘People’s Collection Wales’.
Click on the logo on the left to see the video which shows
where to find the Encyclopedia on Hwb.
You can access a Welsh newspaper on Hwb which has been created
for pupils between 7—11 years old called ‘Y Cliciadur’ . It is
published once every half term by Cynnal and you can also access
prevous copies of the newspaper. Click on the Picture of ‘Y Cliciadur’
to see an example of the newspaper.

There are games to practice multiplication facts

(TTBlast) and Welsh and English spelling skills (Spell
Blast) available through Hwb. Also there are games to
practice mental maths for pupils of different ages. Click
on the pictures on the left to see a video showing
where you can find these resources within Hwb.

Also it is possible to download ‘Minecraft Education Edition’ to your own

computer / laptop for free using your Hwb username and password.
Click on the ‘Minecraft Education’ logo to see a video which shows you
how to do this.
 Firstly open a search Engine and type ‘Hwb’
into the search area.

Then choose the link ‘Hwb Digital Learning

For Wales’ from the search choices.

You can access some of the resources in Hwb

without logging in to the site. However, in
order to get access to all the tools and
resources on Hwb (e.g. Office 365 ,
Just2Easy etc.). You will need to log in using
an username and password by clicking on ‘Log
in’. Every pupil should have their own
personal Hwb username and password from
their school.

Next enter your username in the correct

place and then click ‘Next’. The username
should end with @hwbcymru.net.
Finally enter your password and click ‘Sign in’.

Then click on to see all the tools and

resources that are available for you on Hwb.
 After you have
logged in to Hwb
you will have
access to Office
365 from the
main menu.

There are a number of programs in Office 365 like

Teams , Word , Excel, Powerpoint , Sway and many more.

If your child has been included in a digital class in Teams

the teachers can share activities, links and messages with
the class.

Click on Teams in Office 365.

Click on your class Team.

 If something has been updated within the
Team page you will see a small red
notification in ‘Activity’.
