Bi-Weekly Journal for the Week of 9/23- 9/27

Objectives

● Complete my site visit.

● I hope to narrow my topic and finally decide between Black Market trade and Bias.

● Find 2 articles on black mart trade.

● Send out my business letters.

● Complete my advisor letter, and hopefully send it out.

● I will find at least 2 scholarly/trusted articles to help narrow my topic.

● I will continue annotations and organizing my citations in Zotero.

Journal

Within the past two weeks, I was able to accomplish quite a bit. I learned a great deal about my

strengths such as annotating and note-taking skills. I was able to learn about the course and steps of

research from listening to guest speakers. I completed my annotations and critical read, composed

business letters, and presented a paradigm shift. I’m a bit overwhelmed because I haven’t finalized a

topic, I am deciding between black market trade and implicit bias. In the last two weeks, I organized

and planned out my schedule for my assignments allowing me to visualize my week. Although, I am

hoping to better prepare to avoid any excess stress.

Why

I enrolled in Independent Research because I want to improve my writing and my researching skills.

I am hoping to better prepare myself for future colleges and workplaces. Wanting experience with

advisors and better my communication between adults, this is course is the best fit for me.
