As many of us are social distancing, we are always

on the lookout for new ways to enjoy and spice up
our daily constant.

One global trend that has been making waves on

Instagram and Tiktok is the new Dalgona Coffee.
Made up of only 3 ingredients on your cupboard,
whisk it up and you’re good to go.

Since some of our favorite coffee shops have come

to a temporary close, we could only make our own
version of our favorite, and Dalgona Coffee is defo a
perf alternative.

WHERE DID IT COME FROM?

Dalgona Coffee has a lot of origins. According to

research, it has origins from Macau, India, and
Pakistan where it is known as the whipped coffee.

However, it surged in popularity when it appeared in

the TV show Pyunstorang. Actor Jung Il-Woo went
to Macau where he happened to try the drink and
named it Dalgona.

HOW DO YOU MAKE IT?

Step 1:
Prepare your ingredients:

2 tablespoons of instant coffee (better if the

‘classic’ one)
2 tablespoons of sugar
500ml fresh milk
with 2tbsp hot water

Step 2:
Whisk the instant coffee, hot water, and sugar
together. Usually it would take 400 times or at least
10 minutes of whisking to make it really frothy.

Step 3:
Pour the fresh milk on a glass and top with the
frothed coffee.

WHAT ARE THE OTHER WAYS TO

MAKE IT?

Apart from coffee, you can also use Milo as the

froth. But if you’re going to use Milo, better to use it
with whip cream or pasteurized egg.

Also, you can use milk as the whip and have coffee
or milo as the base. Be creative.
