We, Grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences students of the University of Santo
Tomas – Senior High School study, are currently undertaking a research paper titled,
Historical Understanding through Film: Emphasis on Lessons about the Martial
Law Period as a partial fulfilment of the subject Inquiries, Investigations and Immersion
(III). This study aims to investigate the role of film as a supplementary educational tool
in students’ understanding of historical lessons and events.
