Biography of Jules Verne

Jules Verne was born in 1828 in the town of Nantes, in France.

He doesn´t like school. He likes writing. In 1863 he writes Five Weeks in a

Ballon. People like it a lot. He writes many other stories like: Journey to
the Centre of the Earth (1864), From the Earth to the Moon (1865),
Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea (1870) and Around the World in
Eighty days (1873).

Jules Verne is popular in his time because of people´s interest in science.

Today people are interested to see how many of his imaginary inventions
become reality. For example, in From the Earth to the Moon, the story is
very similar to the real events of man´s first journey to the moon in Apollo
11.

He is the father of science fiction.
