Question: Will coke or diet coke splash higher by adding different amounts of baking.

Research:

What happens if you put baking soda in Coke?

Baking soda and coke react because coke contains an acid and baking soda
can behave as a base in this case. The phosphoric acid in coke gives a hydrogen ion
(called a proton) to the baking soda, which produces carbon dioxide, which is a very
stable gas.

Why does Diet Coke and baking soda explode?

The classic baking soda and vinegar acid-base reaction produces unstable carbonic
acid that rapidly decomposes into water and carbon dioxide, which escapes as a gas.

Hypothesis:

I think the diet coke will work better because I think with less sugar it will work better

Experiment steps:

1. Get coke
2. Get diet coke
3. Get baking soda
4. Put baking soda in coke
5. Record results
6. Put baking soda in diet coke
7. Record results
8. Compare which one worked better
9. Write conclusion

Results:
Conclusion:
Looking at my results, it is clear that my original hypothesis was __correct___________. One way I know
it is (wrong or right) is that ____mostly the diet coke exploded higher_. I think this happened because
_______without sugar it works better__________. Another interesting that that happened was that
________________one-time coke worked better__. I think this was because _______I used the perfect
ratio of coke to baking soda so it went the highest____________. In conclusion, it turns out that
__________diet coke worked best___________. If I were to do this again, two things I would change
would be ______using bigger bottles and bigger amounts and baking soda_____________.
