We all have our own favorite sleeping positions. Some sleep on their side, in a fetal position, or on their
back. Our animal friends are no different.

An adorable shih tzu pup named Paningning from the Philippines has gained a pretty huge following
when a photo showing her sleeping flat on her back made rounds online. Her owner, Janess Cua, who
shared several pictures of her beloved pet, was taken aback at how her sweet Paningning was now an
internet sensation.

Paningning always slept flat on her back just like her human owners, and would often be found dozing
off all around the house and in the most unusual places. Cua shared that the charming puppy
instinctively slept that way since birth, probably because it was a position she was most comfortable
with.

This odd-ball pup was the youngest of Cua’s dog Baobei. Her name was originally ‘Maningning,’ which
translated to bright in Filipino because of the dog’s coloring. It was Cua’s daughter who changed it to
Paningning instead, since she wanted the puppy’s name to start with ‘P.’

Initially, Paningning’s Instagram account was created by a doting fan. Once the account became popular,
the fan turned the page over to Cua so she could continue adding photos and videos of this cute puppy.
This lovable shih tzu boasted of having over 124,000 followers on her Instagram page.

Aside from her love of sleeping all over the house, Paningning was also a typical good-natured pup who
loved playtime and getting treats. At times, she can also be naughty and mischievous.

Worldwide fans couldn’t get enough of this funny little dog. Several artworks and memes have been
inspired by this sleeping pup, further increasing this pretty dog’s popularity. Many fans claimed they
could totally relate to how Paningning slept with nary a care in the world.
