Developing a Multimedia Courseware Using Cognitive Load Theory

 This study describes the application of cognitive learning theory in the development of a
multimedia courseware to enrich the clinical experience of nursing students in a distance
learning environment. One of the objectives is describing the nature and organization of
tasks needed by students to demonstrate the performance of selected competencies in an
adult health nursing specialty course and to identifying strategies and approaches in
addressing the intrinsic, extraneous and germane cognitive load in the development of the
multimedia material. (Bonito, 2016)

Transformative Leadership Model

 In Agravante's Theory of Transformative Leadership Model, she initially mentioned the

concept of servant-leadership spirituality. For nurse educators, they can apply this
concept by being passionate about their craft. They can also show willingness to impart
their acquired knowledge to their students and colleagues in a selfless way. These
educators, contemplate first by attending a vareity of workshops regarding new trends in
nursing, applying evidenced- based practices through patient simulation, and cascading it
to the target learning group.

Retirement and Role Discontinuities

 In Kuan’s theory of retirement and role discontinuities, she values the effect of retirement
as a phase of one’s life and its accompanying adjustments. She identified the determinants
of positive perceptions in retirement and positive reactions toward role discontinuities.
Health status, income, work status, family constellation and self-preparation are identified.
I think that the most determinant factor of which is the self-preparation considering that all
the factors are also important. Self preparation is important especially in dealing with
difficult life transitions. It is our way of preparing for the adjustments that we need to deal
with in entering to a new stage of life.
